Speaking from a stage erected at midfield of Bryant-Denny Stadium with the team behind him, Saban told a crowd estimated at 38,000 [of Alabama hicks] that he’s not done winning at Alabama... “I want everybody here to know this is not the end,” Saban said. “This is the beginning.” Saban held aloft the crystal ball from the Bowl Championship Series trophy to...applause and chants of “Roll Tide!” [from the Alabama hicks]. [The Alabama hicks hooted and hollered] when an announcer introduced six All-Americans, including...the school’s first Heisman Trophy winner. ... [Alabama hick] Alan Britt got to the stadium 4 1/2 hours early to be first in line, and hundreds of people were waiting behind him by the time the gates opened. ... “This doesn’t happen everyday,” Britt said. “It happens a lot more here than at other places, though. Roll Tide!” ... As Saban spoke, construction workers expanding the stadium’s capacity to 101,000 paused to watch from high above an end zone. That’s not the only work going on around the stadium. Athletic director Mal Moore said Alabama already is making plans to erect a statue of Saban Saban: Championship 'just the beginning' at 'Bama - College Football - Rivals.com BRING IT, SABAN!!! :LSU231: Finally, a smile [from Mr. Zero Personality]: Alabama Coach Nick Saban glad-hands Crimson Tide fans in the team's championship celebration in Tuscaloosa.
I'm not a Saban fan or defender but really, what would you like him to say, "This is the best we can do, we probably won't win much from here out."? He's playin to the crowd at a season ending celebration in which they just won the BCS trophy. give it a rest.
There is no "giving a rest" to Tiger Bait, my Bama-loving friend :thumb: And if you like sticking up for Saban so much: did it ever cross your mind to wonder why he never sticks up for LSU? Didn't it "begin for him" when LSU hired him and gave him a shot?
you're mistaken, I am far from a Bama lover. I don't have the time or inclination to argue this point but, it makes my life simpler when I worry about my own end of the ocean (LSU issues).
Nobody is perfect. You can cry all you want about how unperfect you are, or you can hold your head high and be proud to be a man and a Tiger fan!
saban is the best college football coach in america today. LSU has reaped the benefits of having had saban as our coach. if past performance is any indicator of future results, he probably will win another :crystal: at bama. this, of course, does not preclude LSU from winning another :crystal:. if bama wants to erect a statue of saban then let 'em.....it will come in handy for the dogs hanging around the stadium.
I hear that, to keep up with Florida's "Tebow pledge" plaque...Bama's gonna have one that says. "I am not going to be the coach at Miami !!"
