Maybe we can get a split recruiting championship!

LSU has just under a 300 point lead over USC with the addition of Favorite (should be updated on Wednesday).. LSU will end up with 27-28 recruits. USC will only end up with about 20-21.

USC will finish higher in avg stars, but LSU will win the recruiting title with total points.

I figure we'll win it if we get Johnson, Carter, Marcus Walker, and Herring or Darity.

I think Southern Cal will sign all the blue-chipers that are still considering them. No reason for them to not sign 25 or more if they want to.

LSU doesn't have 28 scholarships to give right now, its more like 18. All schools oversign because attrition happens through grades, transfers, injuries and such. More scholarhips will become open before August.

LSU signed Zimmerman (a deep snapper) who will be non-scholarship for his 1st year and count against 2005 numbers. Kid probably qualifies for TOPS or something similar. Saban has his game face on and knows how to play the numbers.

Honestly, I'd rather win the higher average of stars than to win it by numbers. Either way, we'll have a great class coming in, so it doesn't matter.

Looks like a "split recruiting championship" to me.
