PP wasn't "good" on returns, he was phenomenal. For years, people have complained that our best athletes weren't returning punts and kick-offs. He is the reason our anemic offense had such favorable field position. Let's not take a huge positive from this disappointing game and make it into a negative.
I do hope they rotate him when necessary, though. He was clearly gassed at a critical time. And it didn't help that UNC was throwing the ball non-stop in the fourth quarter.
Oklahoma beat Utah State 31-24. Ole Miss LOST to Jacksonville State. Count your blessings, Tiger fans, it could be much worse. We played poorly in the 2nd half but you have to look at the positives. A W is a W and there's plenty of coaching points to be made. There were also plenty of great performances, 2 TDs by Shepard and 250 return yards by Peterson is all one can ask for from this team. Those are our two best athletes and they had huge games. The rest was surely theater of the bizarre, but I remain satisfied, if not thrilled.
y'all do realize he just had one of the biggest return games in SEC history, right? odds of him running that dam much every games is pretty slim. hell, i don't remember the last time anyone kicked that many returnable balls to us in a single game before last night. that alone will reduce his workload in the coming weeks.
Not only that but when we start to play teams with better qbs and better wrs Miles is gonna have to make the choice of having full strength on defense or winded after return a few punts.
He's fought cramps his whole life he said. So LSU needs to either figure out a way to keep him hydrated or start holding him out in certain return situations. We can't afford to lose him anymore on D. When he's out, bad things happen.
No need for the snarkiness, because that solution didn't help our defense much now did it? He still cramped up throughout the fourth. And that wasn't "certain situations" that was every situation. Big difference between using a player selectively and using him til he's done.
