Thank you Black Jack , I think the statement that LSU needs to make is sending Rynn home . The whatever then becomes behave while you are a LSU player . He gets stopped when he comes out on the field . He will either throw it deep or try to run with the option , the wishbone has been dead for a long time .

IMO Welker deserves it more than Hatch and he has been here longer.Miles said at the press conference Perrilloux is #2. Also next year Jarret Lee will be number 2 behind Perrilloux.

I sent an email to Don Long aka dandydon and this is the reply I got:

Joshua, Andrew Hatch is not a SEC caliber quarterback. Ryan Perrilloux and Jarrett Lee are LSU quarterbacks of the future.

    Don,

Would now be a good as time as any for the 3rd string QB, Andrew Hatch to see a favorable amount of playing time? Flynn of course is a senior and although loaded with talent, Ryan Perrilloux can’t seem to keep his nose clean. I would think that Coach Les Miles should consider the fact that Perrilloux has not had an off-season that he has stayed out of trouble. And given the fact that Hatch has a great opportunity to be at least a back-up quarterback for (possibly) the defending SEC champions, we wouldn’t want a season, like (gulp!) Notre Dame which is possible next year if we don’t have a QB that has some game experience. Your thoughts?

    Thank you,

Agreed. It's a bit of a stretch to think he'll ever be a starting QB at LSU. But who knows as the summary below reveals some interesting points. Also, below is a link with how he came to be a Tiger:

    http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=520434

    In summary:

2004 Recruited out of high school by our Gary Crowton. Gary was coaching BYU to their 3rd consecutive losing season and was run out of town. Before leaving for Oregon he recommended Hatch go play for Harvard.

2005 Hatch joins the Harvard team, but doesn't see any playing time, ranking 3rd on their depth chart as a freshman. Harvard goes undefeated that year, so maybe they had a really good QB?

2006 Hatch, as a Mormon, does his missionary work in Chile. Tears up his knee playing soccer. During rehab, Crowton reappears and urges him to try out for the Tigers. Hatch does, and impresses the staff enough to earn a full scholarship.

2007. Threw 2 passes against Middle Tennesse State. 1/2 9 yrds. Hopes to be an NFL QB one day...

I wouldn't mind seeing him get some work in the 4th quarter, but I hope RP stays on the straight and narrow, becoming our starting QB next year.

    umm... no?

    Jarrett Lee anyone?

This Hatch kid is no different than any other walkon. HE will never play significantly. He is only relevant, because we are redshirting Lee.

The QB we signed in this class will be ahead of him on the depth chart, too.
