Uh no. You and I have a different notion of "fair" if you think its fair to write JL off based on his peformance against perhaps the top defense in the country, on the road, with little game time this year and little practice time with the first unit.

JJ looking better last 2 weeks, but a strong case can be made that JJ hadnt been progressing fast enough through the first half of the season to justify getting 100% of the snaps and that LM should have been subbing JL more. JJ also might have benefited from getting to sit now and then, and watch the game. And JL would have had more game time under his belt when he has to come in, on the road against one of the best teams in the nation.

I can also appreciate the argument that its better to just take your lumps and get 100% of the snaps to JJ to get him experience, accepting that there will be short term pain.

But not fair to throw JL to the wolves.

I like Jefferson and he's shown improvement, but he's still running the #10 offense in the SEC. Less than 200 yards a game passing just doesn't cut it in the top-10. It allows teams to shut down our run. We've got some spectacular receivers who aren't seeing the ball enough. That has to change.

100% agree and is exactly what I have been put up on a cross for on this forum since July.

Teams are playing the run with Jefferson is in there, and even if Jefferson gets a few in there the other teams like their chances. As soon as you have Lee in there the whole thing has to change on the defensive side of the ball... it clearly did last night. Those lanes I could have ran through.

To be honest you are going to get the same BS next year if you have the same OC, they continue to run that option with Jefferson and to the short side of the field, the commentators were even saying how awful it was.

When Lee was in there it should have been run, run and run until Alabama came back up with their safeties. The OC clearly failed. LSU had them!!!!!! and the OC completely blew it.

Now if someone doesn't like Lee, that is fine, but you clearly see the change in the defense as soon as he came in. The safeties had to roll way back. All those running lanes looked like airport landing strips.

The defensive game plan is always the same against LSU with Jefferson... put 8-9 in the box and take your chances that you only get beat a few times if that.

It ain't what you say, it's how you say it. You tend to credit the players for everything good and blame the coaches for everything bad.

I can't say the LSU players have lacked effort, it is the coaches responsibilities to put them in the best position to be successful.

I see talented LSU players playing very hard.... that is all you can ask from them. LSU has been outcoached in most of the games this year, even the games they won. IMHO.

Heck, you take Scott, no I don't think he is the best RB on the team but I have to say he plays as hard as he can, how can you fault him? I don't. He was being put in a position not to be successful.

Let me say this, you put whoever you want at QB with that OC on this team I think they will struggle. When you see an OC continue game after game take loses on running to the short side of the field on option plays you have to really ask yourself does he even want the team to be successful.

I agree, however, the fact he is still in an LSU uniform means they have to count on him to produce. Now what? I think I probably said at some point
last year that I felt his muliple int's for TD's would be an issue I did not think he would ever overcome in an LSU uniform, he might do it wearing
someone else's though. Not a knock on JL but he looked tenative again last night. LSU is still one play from the next QB, who is it now???:geaux:

    After reading the posts here.
Everyone knows what I think Of JL after last year and that I thought the coaches should have JJ in sooner.
Having said that I believe the coaches, Miles and Crowton aren't putting the players in a position to be successful.
It may be more Crowton but Miles is the head coach and is responsible for the overall issues on this team.
    Chavis gets an A

Edit: I am taking up for JL here also for the record.
The coaches on the offensive side of the ball aint getting it done, period!

    So thats Jeffersons fault?
not seeing the ball, as I recalled we were winning the game going into halftime, because of Jeffersons' play.
I can understand your like of Lee, but sheez, its not Jeffersons fault, he did a very good job yesterday.
