Anyone have any recommendations for people evacuating southeast Louisiana headed northwest for the storm? I stayed in Tyler, TX a few years back, maybe for Katrina. Is there anything else in the area maybe closer which maybe a good place to check out?

They don't know where it will hit yet but Shreveport is the closest and the hurricane effects should be minimal. Jackson, Mississippi is another possible option

Got rooms booked in Shreveport for the next three days just in case. Hopefully that's for enough out of the way. I remember we evacuated to Alexandria for Gustave, and the bastard ended up dropping all kinds of rain over there.

Latest projections look like the Lake Charles area is in the bullseye to me.
