    Win = Win

    I'll take an "ugly" victory over a loss any day, especially on the road in the SEC in a hostile environment against your former coach and all of the emotions that went with that issue. The win despite all the penalties and turnovers, IMHO, is a testament to how good LSU is. We can and will play better in the stretch. Glad we have the Varsity fiasco and the whole Miles / Saban issue behind us (at least until next year). Go Tigers !

    Because this is just one game. The Tigers have done it all season long and it has not been corrected. It's easy to jump on the coaching staff for that.

    Belichick's teams have always been disciplined and have never had a problem with senseless penalties.

    This guy was on point with this article (except for calling the 4th down play vs Bama as a huge strategic risk).

    It's not just a holding call here and a pass interference there.......

    It's dumb, borderline clueless stuff like hitting the quarterback late and taking your helmet off to yell at the referee. EVERYONE knows that you don't take your helmet off unless there's a f'n wasp in it.

    Also, anyone who watches LSU can see that a lot of the stupid penalties lead to immediate points for the opponent.

    What amazes me is the lack of penalties called on LSU's opponents... very, very, very few holding penalties (don't have the number) called on offensive lines blocking the best defensive line in the country... Is this a Shaq syndrome going on here?

    The other thing that has to improve is LSU's abysmal special teams play... Horrible coverage on kicks and punts (or is it just the punter outkicking his coverage?) and even worse blocking on returns... The bright spot on special teams (God help us) has been FGs!

    I'm not denying that these penalties are hurting the team and even cost us the one loss. They are, in fact, largely stupid penalties not arising out of aggressive play. I just feel that, after 8 games, the coaches' message is not getting across. This has been happening since the Tulane game and I have to believe that the coaches have stressed the issue ad nauseum. It's just not penetrating certain thick skulls. I think Les' message this week will be "phucque up once and you're sitting down...and not getting back in"!

    Couldn't agree more. Dead ball penalties aside, call the freakin game evenly. I've seen more non-calls on holding plays in the last 2 games than all other games combined. Talent in the SEC has surpassed the abiity of the current refs to officiate effectively. The SEC needs to hire some retired NFL refs to either train current refs or take over for them altogether.

    Yep, Bama didn't have a single holding call on the O-line. And we harrassed the QB some 16-18 times Saturday. That was a farce.

    Bama, Auburn and Florida had a combined 7 penalties against us. We had 26.
