Looking ahead to the 2005 season, the National media has already deemed Tennessee as THE TEAM in the SEC and one of the few to challenge Southern Cal. Surely a win against TV darlin' (and loser to Baylor) a$m isn't all this commotion is based on? Rick Clausen and two recovering QB's? This is the same team that stunk it up against ND, UK, and Vandy down the stretch.
Let me tell you, I live in Houston and live and work with plenty of aggies and they f*^$@$ suck. They are the worst people to be around. The actually think they are smarter than everyone. :geauxtige
Unless Fat Fill screws something up, UT is the real deal. I have been watching them since I moved here, and there is some good talent on this team.
Let the SEC Ref darlings have their off season media hype. This is also the team that would have lost to Ole Miss and Georgia if there had been instant replay last season in the SEC, and don't forget the non-flag issue during the ending moments of the Florida game.
I think it's kind of nice to be flying under the radar again. Remember that if Tennessee is being put on that high of a pedestal, then if we can beat them next year (maybe twice) it is bound to help our positioning in the polls.
I sure hope you're right! If Tennessee is the SEC media darling and starts the year ranked in the top 3, so much the better when LSU whips them in Baton Rouge. I don't mind seeing other SEC teams ranked higher in preseason polls as long as they appear on LSU's schedule that season.
I agree with the notion that Tennessee is a MNC contender. They are legit IMO. Let's hope the hype takes its toll...
Tenn. in 2005 could very well be our 2003 Georgia. A victory in Death Valley and Atlanta could spell great things for our final game. Stop and smell the Roses.
