Since schools are shut down might as well get in a little turkey hunting and crappie fishing. Both a little bit slow still but should get cranked up here soon. Still had some luck. Crappie are 14-18 inches some over 3lbs and man they are fun to catch wading. Gobbler was a junk bird but he will eat good. Beard rot and missing a spur almost thought he was a dern jake till he fanned out.

I have never thought about wading for crappie. Same gear as from a boat?

Not really. The move up shallow and go into flooded timber a lot to spawn. Can fish em from boat alog the edges too but there’s a lot of fish that go up real shallow in spots way to thick for a boat. To get to those fish throw on some waders and take a single pile and some jigs. Only let out about 6” of line and and drop the jig net to very stick bush tree etc you wade by and wait for the “thump.” It is a heck of a good time
