for jojo lafell and jacob hester, but especially jojo. he needed this game in the worst way.

watching him fight for that touchdown instead of just running out of bounds was great considering his past.

jacob hester showed nice speed in that long td run, hopefully that will shut up some of the haters.

special teams coverage remains a concern, and i just found out pevato (sp?) splits time at specials teams and linebacker. we need to find someone to specialize in special teams because that problem will be huge against a team like arkansas or whomever we play in the seccg or the national title game (assuming we make it there).

i have to eat some crow on what i said a week ago about our defense. i said i lost confidence in our chances (though i did not specify what chances i meant). well i meant making it to the national title.

we've already got one big goal sealed up, and that's the only goal that we control right now. that goal is making it to the seccg, making it to the national title is easily attainable now if we win out but who's to say oregon doesn't jump us, or kansas for that matter. hell, it could even be oklahoma, that's up for people not playing on the lsu football team to decide.

that said, here's a big HELL YEAH for the tigers. we've made it to atlanta and that's HUGE even though everyone expected, and continues to expect, a national title.

now if we could just find a way to not have linebackers covering fly routes, or find a way to get jai euqene some more playing time, esp in close games, i'd personally feel a lot more comfortable in making it to the bcs national title game.

(i should find some clever title for my posts considering they're all pretty much theses haha )

If we win out, I think the only team that could jump us might be Kansas if they beat Mizzou then Oklahoma in the Big 12 Conference Championship. But we should be #2 and would still play in the BCS Championship game.:thumb:

yeah i agree but i wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility to have both oregon and the big 12 champ jump us.

kansas beating mizzou and oklahoma would be huge in the sos. oklahoma having already beaten mizzou and possibly beating an undefeated kansas will be huge in the sos.

oregon is a pretty far reach but right now our sos can only go down or remain stagnant considering we'll probably play tenn in the seccg. we gotta really hope to play and beat georgia in the seccg to absolutely, without question, seal the deal for us in being no worse than bcs# 2.

That is what think will happen, if KU would win out. I have to admit that their schedule is a joke, but if they beat Mizzou and beat OU in the championship game, you can't keep them out of the title game. Oregon may have had a slightly tougher schedule, but you can't keep a conference champion out of the title game. Plus, Mizzou and OU are two top ten teams. If they beat them, their schedule would shame Oregon's.

Who hates Jacob Hester? I thought it was generally accepted that the kid is our most solid running back, our go-to guy who gets the job done week in and week out. Did I miss something?

Never heard ANYBODY hate on Hester. I know some people...self included...would like to see more of the other backs. But that doesn't indicate any Hester hatin'.:nope:

Thats some "BIG" "if's" there Bubba...Kansas will lose at least one game, very likely 2 before the seasons over. The brick wall they've been heading for all season is looming large now..."Bam"!!!

Keiland would have had 250 yards had he gotten as many carries as Hester did.
Scott would easily have 200, Trindon would have 175 yards too. Murphy probably 160 and Shawn Jordan would have gotten 150 yards too...
