Are you kidding? Think that one through Gump. It is a home field tourney for Bama.

Crappy in the sense that the place is a dump and everyone is rude...NO!

Crappy in the sense that you'll have to drive everywhere for food, drinks, lodging, entertainment, etc....YES!

Granted the games are the reason we go but I'm just not interested in driving that far unless I'm going to have an all-around good time.

I live in Slidell, Louisiana and LOVE it but realize that it would also be a crappy place to host the event (if we had a ballpark) because you're very limited with hotel and restaurant...and particularly entertainment...choices.

The last time we played the Dawgs in the GA Dome, It was represented very well by LSU fans...in fact by the end of the game there were more LSU fans than Dawg fans:hihi:

Since 2000, six of the seven SEC Champions have played in the Sugar Bowl. The seventh was Florida who played in the BCS title game.

During that stretch, the SEC runner-up has played in the Capital One / Citrus Bowl on four occasions and once each in the Music City, Cotton, and Peach / Chick-fil-A.

The only time teams returned to the same location was in 2005. UGA returned to the Georgia Dome for the Sugar as a result of Hurricane Katrina. LSU was bypassed by the Capital One and Cotton because we had played in those games the two previous seasons.

I just don't think it would be good to have this happen on a routine basis. I'm not opposed to a rotation but I think New Orleans needs to be more concerned with keeping the Sugar Bowl in the BCS rotation than trying to add another game...at least for now.

If / when the Cotton Bowl moves to the new Cowboys stadium, you can expect Dallas to make a run at rejoining the big boys. Atlanta would also like to move up as well. We can't afford to become a second-tier bowl. If that happens, we may be fighting just to get the SECCG.

And LSU played in the SEC CG and then returned to play Miami.

I never did quite understand why Nashville didn't build a Dome for the Titans.

It would have been a nice venue for the SEC CG, and the Music City Bowl as well. Not to mention a site where Vandy could play Tennessee every other year and fill it full of Vol fans.

If im not mistaken, We got blew out in the begining of the game and never recovered (championship 2005).The Georgia fans started a chant to our players ( cant remember exactly what it was) near the end of the game, which I could of stomached by students ,but this was the grown adult fans. The blazer wearing fur wearing #$@#$@#, dont get me started.
At the end of that game it was about 1/2 empty in the Dome. Now we could of played Georgia again in the dome ,cause I dont have the best of memory. (been married to long).....
I just hate georgia , most rudest fans I ever meet:milesmic: :milesmic: :milesmic:

Heres an idea, just pulled it out of the air.

Instead of rotating it through on a yearly bases you use the year before as which site its on. If the West won the year before, its played in NO, if the East won the year before its played in Atlanta. I haven't thought this through and it's probably full of holes but i thought I'd add my two cents to the conversation.

Lets not only rotate the Sec Championship Game, lets rotate all the conference tie in BCS Games. I am tired of going the SuperDome for the Sugar Bowl 01', 03', 06 and maybe 07. I would love to see the SEC Champ. in the other BCS Bowls. I would think other fans of other BCS schools would like to change it around a little bit. Or Maybe its just me.

Go ahead and call the Pac-10 and Big-10 to see if they would like to rotate.
