I like it being in Atlanta. It's fun driving through Miss, and Alabama after beating all of the teams in those states. Hell, this year I may just take the long way through Florida! Driving to Atlanta, to watch the Tigers play in the SECCG, is a guaranteed way to get flipped off at least 50 times by jealous rival fans. I love it!!
I like it in Atlanta (only if we dont play Georgia) Man, if thats not a home game for them . Id rather play the Patriots than Georgia in the Dome. They have pretty a special set of refs that they bring in and they have brand new seeing eye dogs for them.( get my drift):nope: :nope: :nope: I say move it to New Orleans, very neutral ground:lol:
Its funny... You know how was advocating a rotation system between Atlanta and New Orleans? Lil' Nicky... Think he still wants that?
Although I wouldn't mind having the game in New Orleans, I do have one question. What happens if you win the SECCG but don't play for the National Title? Would you then return to New Orleans to play in the Sugar Bowl? Also, if the game was in New Orleans this year then LSU could play both the SECCG and BCS Championship in the Dome. I just don't see that happening. I don't have as much of an issue with the game being in Atlanta as I do with the baseball tournament being in Hoover. At least Georgia has to win the East to get to Atlanta. Alabama only has to avoid being in the bottom four to make the baseball tourney. They definitely have a home field advantage there. Also...nice ballpark...but everything else there is crappy!
Why not? The SEC has a tie in with the Peach Bowl which is also in the Ga Dome. LSU played in both in 05'. I don't know if Georgia has ever played in both, but it's possible. I don't think that is an issue.
I think that the SEC Championship should be rotated between Atlanta, Jacksonville and New Orleans. Those are three "neutral" sites that would make the championship more accessible to fans in the west and east. :tigereye: TigerSportsNews
The one time the Sugar Bowl was played in Atlanta, UGA played the SEC CG, and then Sugar in the same building.
I live in Hoover... just wondering what you thought was crappy. Sure, it isn't perfect here, but it isn't a total dump, either.
I worked at AutoZone park in Memphis as an intern in college and I know they have been trying for years to get the baseball tourney moved there. It's neutral and in the heart of downtown. The ballpark itself has been voted as the best minor league park several times since it was opened.
