I do not want Florida, but if Tenn and Georgia lose does Florida win the East tiebreaker? I already know Tenn wins a tiebreaker with Georgia. I think the easiest team for us to beat would be Tenn, but there is some concern over Oregon catching us if we don't end up with a highly rated Georgia team.
A Florida fan down here explained that if Tenn, Georgia and Florida end up in a 3 way tie, Florida wins the tie-breaker. I think its because 2 of their 3 SEC losses have come against the West. But if UT loses to Arkansas, they would have the same situation, so I dunno why he told me that outright. My guess is that UT would have to lose to Kentucky and beat Arkansas for Florida to win the East, as well as Georgia losing 1 more SEC tilt (Auburn and Kentucky, both at home). So I think Florida's shot may be a long one. I would say we match up best vs UT, then Kentucky, then Georgia, then Florida. Kentucky still has a legit shot since they play both Georgia and UT. Georgia is becoming a scarier team however, week by week.
I pulled these scenarios from another board and haven't checked them but, just looking, think they're correct. If someone notices something innacurate about any of them, please post any clarification needed. -If UGA loses once and UF wins out, UGA goes to the SECCG by virtue of having beat the Gators head-to-head. -If UGA wins out and UT lose one more SEC game, UGA goes. -If Tenn and Georgia lose exactly one more game and Fla wins out then Fla goes. -If UT loses one SEC game, UGA loses two SEC games, and UF wins out - UF goes.
I thought it was interesting that when Miles was asked who he would most like to play from the east he choose Florida. I wonder what he sees that we don't. Although I guess the staff is the most familiar with them because we played them once already.
I assume that the first scenario has Tenn losing twice and totally out of the picture right? Logically it is hard to reconcile the 3rd scenario with the first one because why would GA lose a 3 way tie breaker to FLA, but not a 2 way one. However, I know that the 3 way tie breaker could use different criteria and I don't know without checking if Fla beat Tenn etc., so I guess that is right. Thanks.
because UF killed UT. once UGA is eliminated from 3way tie, it goes back to the top of the list of tiebreakers.

I don't like to go against spread offenses as it negates some of our talent and provides one on one opportunities for the opposing WR's with pass interference calls possibly determining big plays. Year in and year out Ga has great athletes in state and Richt is a quality coach. Give me Fulmer and Tennessee any day. In fact Alabama just beat Tenn soundly with a stellar performance from their star WR. In a perfect world Ohio State and Oregon would lose soon and I would feel free to pull for Tennessee without hesitation.
We're already ahead of Oregon and I don't think it matters who we end up playing b/c no matter what, we have 1 extra game and their remaining schedule isn't going to cut it. I want an easy SECCG opponent. Our schedule has been brutal enough.
Unfortunately it isn't a slam dunk for us to stay ahead of Oregon even though logic would dictate it should be. The national media's new story of the moment is questioning LSU being ahead of Oregon in the BCS polls. This could change a few votes because of the "campaign" to get a west coast team higher. If Kansas loses, and they probably will, the people casting votes for them at a certain spot may shake up the polls by changing where LSU or Oregon are positioned because their favorite team is now out of it. They shouldn't, but it happens. The "campaign" will gain steam if we don't win convincingly against our next 3 opponents.
We need to play a #6 ranked Georgia team to help us squash whatever happens to any of the other teams that are pushing for the title shot.
