It is a no brainer. There are many sportswriters who have already come out and said it. Every per carry stat, including punt and kick returns supports it. Even the intangibles have to be superior. Reggie is selfish, he isn't a team player. Would he have risked the fate of the entire USC football team by violating the rules if he was a team guy? He didn't change when he came to the Saints. He is more interested in busting a long gain to make highlights or score a touchdown to glorify himself than sacrificing for the team. Therefore, he continues to kill drives by taking losses or running out of bounds when the correct decision is to drive forward and take the 3 yard gain when there isn't a hole. How would you feel if you were his teammate and this fool, who is making a bundle$$$, is dancing around and running backwards instead of keeping you "on schedule" so you can have a high probability of picking up the first down? In addition, he didn't want to work out with the team during the lock out. I am glad to have Sproles. Especially since Ivory is still recovering and probably won't practice fully for another 2 weeks. But here is what I firmly believe... Zero > Bush
absolutely. this dude can play. I think the offense just improved about 20% because he can do it all. damn dude, he's gone. let the personal stuff go. it was fun while he was sucking but it seems like you are stressing over him still.
Can you now officially give it a rest? I never one time heard you mention Sproles as a possible replacement. If you had, I probably would've agreed with you. My whole argument in this whole 'Should Reggie stay or go' debate was that if Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis wanted to keep him then that was good enough for me. I know some people think they are better talent evaluators then Super Bowl winning coaches and GMs, but they're only fooling themselves. Now that they've parted ways with him and picked up Sproles, I couldn't be happier. So gloat all you want, after the fact. Nobody likes a Monday morning QB; or in your case GM/scout.
I'm a little surprised by this as you have uttered many of the same sentiments in the past. I'm not stressing over him and it certainly isn't old news as he was just released yesterday. Do I intend to bash him anymore in the near future?---no, Bush's departure will be old news tomorrow and we will move on. But I didn't break any personal moral compass by posting my sentiments the minute he left the team.
You certainly sound like you have an agenda against with your insulting comments about him. Believe it or not, some people still appreciate what he did and the effort he gave. I mean, yeah he's been a bust but he's still just one football player and hasn't disparaged any fans I don't think...unless you're related to Kim :thumb:
oh like i said, i did it in fun and it irritated a few bush boys not wanting to see the light. but the light has been shone. it just sounded as though you wanted to eat his children still and send him back to bolivia.
Eat his children!! No man that is what Iron Mike Tyson does! I prefer brownies.---just to clarify--not the girlscout, boyscout type.
I wouldn't characterize it as an agenda, but obviously wouldn't make those comments if I didn't believe them and stand behind them. I am friends with many of these people who appreciate him. I've sat side by side and routed the Saints on with them so that isn't a shock to me. Hell, I've had Bush on my fantasy football team. Again, I didn't want to pick him, but he fell so far in the draft I took him.
You must have missed my wink face and "no hard feelings" statement. I assure you my intention was to give it a rest after that one post. I even worded the post so that other people unfamiliar with our past disagreement may have doubts as to whether I originally held your position. You and/or 100% Tigerbred also said before that your argument was he wasn't easily replaceable. Please don't make me go back and quote that too. I already addressed in earlier threads that Payton and Loomis are not infallible and every fan has a right to his or her opinion and stated mine. Again, I clearly said I knew I wasn't better than Payton or Loomis in general, but thought I was right in the opinion I held on Bush. Here is a quote from my earlier post on 11-27-2010 mentioning Sproles. Ever heard of Danny Woodhead of the Patriots? His salary? $395,000 in 2010. They threw him in after Kevin Faulk went down. He is better than Bush. Just broke a 60 yard run against Indy the week before last. Other backs in the league with good receiving stats: LeSean McCoy, Arian Foster, Ray Rice, Adrian Petersen, Jamaal Charles, Jahvid Best, Darren Sproles, Matt Forte, Frank Gore. We should have drafted or picked up a fast back last draft and said bye bye to the 8 million dollar man. Any decent back will do, just ask Bill Bellicheck (probably mispelled) and Mike Shanahan if you don't believe me. Is it possible to gloat before the fact? Don't make me go back and search for quotes again man--I'm too lazy. Quit while you're behind--ahead. :yelwink2:
People like you make me laugh. The team makes a decision that you agree with and you're obsessed with this 'See, I was right. I told you so' mentality. Yay, good for you. Sorry, I have no cookies to hand out. Again, I support what the team does. True, I wished it would have worked out for Reggie in N.O. I wish he was the superstar in the NFL that he was in college. I don't have all of the weird unnatural hate for him that you seem to have. I appreciate his efforts that helped give us our first championship and I appreciate all of his efforts off the field for the city and the people. But he's gone now, we've got Sproles, and we're the team to beat in the South. Life is good. Let's try to move forward now, ok?
