Look at the top 11 in the State of Louisiana... WOW !!!! http://rivals100.rivals.com/viewran...y=638&Year=2004
LSU did not recruit him. Nor would a RB sign with LSU this year. I guess you missed the 3 True Freshman that are tearing it up or the fact the SEC and Sugar Bowl MVP is a Freshman... Why would he even consider going there.... He will never see a down. He would not take a snap for 3 years.... Dont blame him for going somewhere else....
Auburn, Tennessee, and Michigan seem to be fighting for the services of Jakouri Williams from Plaquemine also. But again, this is someone that LSU didn't recruit. We are stacked at running back, and if we needed him, we'd probably get him.
I am sure if he was willing to look at doing a Josh Reed/Henderson look at WR, but also the boat is getting pretty full there as well. I am sure these are all great kids and great players. But LSU is pretty stacked at WR and RB. And very young at both.... Tack on the arrival of Doucet... Most WR's and RB's will look elsewhere for SURE playing time.
I noticed the same thing today. We have 10 of Rivals' top 11 in Louisiana, and the one we don't have doesn't want to compete with JV, Addai, Ally and BE for playing time. We also have two of the Rivals top 3 in Arkansas, believe it or not. So far, we have not cherry picked Mississippi like we usually do, but we are still in on a couple of big time players from that state as well.
I concur. We are stacked at WR, RB, and QB for the next three years. Our most critical need going into this year was linebacker, and that need was filled nicely. A little depth at offensive line and defensive backfield was also needed and I think that is fixed as well.
