Re: Craig Loston SI's Takkle.com compares Loston to Jack Tatum: Loston is impressive. He is aggressive and is like a heat seeking missle attacking the ball carrier. Some of the older readers may remember Jack Tatum. This guy plays with that passion. (LINK) Jack "the Assassin" Tatum was a First Round Draft Pick NFL star for John Madden's Raiders in the 70's -- he was five-time All-Pro ('73 to '77) and Super Bowl Champion ('77). Tatum played college ball for Woody Haye's Ohio State, where assistant coach Lou Holtz used him on defense. Tatum was a two-time unanimous All American ('69-'70). In '69, Tatum finished #10 in the Heisman voting, and in '70 Tatum finished #7 in the Heisman voting. Tatum was one of the hardest hitters ever to play the game, and was responsible for the hit that left a Patriots WR paralyzed from the chest down for the rest of his life. He also knocked out a Colts TE. His hit on Vikings WR Sammy White in Super Bowl XI was one of the best hits in Super Bowl history. At Ohio State, Tatum was such a hard-hitter, that in 2001, Jim Tressel instituted the "Jack Tatum Hit of the Week Award," given to the Ohio State player who had the most impressive defensive hit of the game. Re: Craig Loston Jack Tatum. Whoa. Jack Tatum couldn't care less if you died right in front of him after one of his bone jarring hits. A true assassin.
Re: Craig Loston I was on my way back from Birmingham visiting my cousins, when my cousin called me and told me the news. Great news. Rivals already had LSU listed as the #1 recruiting class so far. Scout.com has us as #4. We should shoot up on their board - especially if Mingo commits tomorrow.
Re: Craig Loston Mingo won't commit til almost NSD or on NSD. He's taking all his free trips. Debose is likely to commit to LSU on Sunday. Campbell is possibly going to commit to LSU tomorrow (either LSU or Michigan). That would make 6 five star recruits going into the stretch drive.
Re: Craig Loston “LSU had a tough year but this class that’s going to be coming in is going to help get them back to the top,” said Loston. “It’s time for us to get to work and bring another national championship home.”
