If a player fumbles, but the ref blows the play dead and calls the player down, while the fumble has not yet been recovered (the ball is rolling untouched), can the play be challenged and overturned and the ball given to the recoverer of the fumble.

I thought that once the play is blown dead, it doesn't matter what happens. For example, I thought when OBJ fumbled, as the ball was rolling the Ref was running to the spot and waiving his hands over his head, and then the ball was recovered by FL.

Seems strange, as some players could quit on a play after a whistle and then the other team recover.

Don't get me wrong, I know he fumbled, this is just a rule question.

If the game is At Florida...it's always florida's ball.

I was thinking the same thing. I thought fumbles were only reviewable if the ruling on the field was "fumble"

    I guess they changed it.

Nope they can change it. You ignore the whistle and ball goes to the recovering team. Or if it's unclear it goes to who the refs want to win in either case. This one they got right.

I was just so glad they blew it dead immediately. Our offense has a hard enough time playing offense, I didn't want have to watch them play defense.

OBJ did help him self scrambling to get it.

It was clear he even knew he lost it....

OBJ is good talent that I think is suffering from thinking to much.

He just needs to play like he did last year.

Because we Lack no legit #2 and no legit Slot WR, OBJ not only gets covered by the opposing teams best CB, he often gets the double. We should just make RS go deep every play. Punishment for his drops.

I don't even know if Wright played. Boone was suffering from the dropsies, and Landry? I have no idea. Did he miss the plane? The good thing, that was a very tough secondary LSU faced yesterday. Very physical, excellent man coverage, great prep for SC

    But ya......

Wright, Boone, Landry, Shep - Total receptions combined = 1
