LSU will boost its lead ever so slightly over idle Oregon with its impressive 58-10 win over La. Tech. The game was vital to show the nation we could play a full 60 minutes (didn't we play only 45 minutes, however?...shhh...don't tell anyone). Hard to tell how far down Ohio State falls, but I think they will have a fairly soft landing that puts them at #5 in the BCS. If that's the case, there BCS CG chances are not quite over (although fleeting given the Big 12 scenario). Kansas will eventually overtake LSU for most if not all of the computer polls should they win out. Oregon picked a REALLY bad week to be idle. Everybody thank their lucky stars that La. Tech was on a 4 game winning streak (were 0-5 before then). Had they been 1-8 or 0-9, we would have been hurt in the computer rankings. Being 4-5, it had only a slight effect.
Their computer polls are really lacking. They actually will not make up any gain as Missouri passes them in many of the computer polls this week, Ohio State won't fall far enough to drop past OU and even with the BC loss, OU remains stagnant in their computer polls at essentially the same exact position. It hurt them to play Baylor this week while Missouri played a decent A&M team. They only have the Big 12 championship game and that won't be enough to help them boost their computer polls anywhere near LSU or Oregon.

It hurt them to play Baylor this week while Missouri played a decent A&M team. They could end up 4th or 5th in many computer polls should LSU, Oregon, ASU, Ohio State and OU win out. Kansas gets a good boost in the computer rankings (thanks in large part to the OSU loss). Kansas should also gain on OU in the human polls as human voters who had them behind teams like W. Virginia will jump them in many voters polls, therefore closing the gap between Kansas and OU. Final result: Kansas opens up a substantial lead over OU for the 3rd spot in the BCS.
So if Kansas, LSU, and Oregon win out, what is your early prediction as to who gets left out in the cold, Oregon?
Yep, looking more and more like that. But we shall see tomorrow morning. Keep an eye out on them pesky human polls. They tend to do what the hell they want to do. The gap may be much closer than what I projected, I sure hope to hell not. I think our 58-10 victory and them being idle should help us spread the gap for us in the human polls over Oregon. Cross your fingers. The one team who can guarantee themselves a spot in the BCS CG is Kansas winning out. Then comes LSU, then Oregon.
i don't know Kansas looks really strong I think they fly by Mizzu but will not get by Oklahomo!!!!:geaux: :crystal:
well we know for sure no one will switch their vote from LSU to Oregon after today. and with a 58-10 win, I have to think a few converts will be had. We'll see. at the end of the day, I just think having the extra "big" game is the straw that will break the Ducks' backs. what helps them is that damn Thursday game coming up. If they hang 60 or win by some absurd amount in that game, they will draw some converts, as EVERYONE will be watching, whereas LSU will be competing with other games on tv at the time of their Ole Miss game.
"Thats" exactly it, no matter what Ore doe's or doesn't do LSU will still have one more game than they do...All the Tigers have to do is take care of business "win out" and they're right where they wanna be.The one thing I,ll say for these Tigers is I don't see them "choking" or having a "falloff". These kids are "tough"!!!
