So here we are again, a cupcake game before we head into an extremely difficult game vs Auburn on the road. We know we'll need Burrow to be effective in the passing game for us to have a chance. So what is your prediction for how we handle Burrow vs SE La. 12-16 for 141 yards and no touchdowns or 26-34 for 310 yards and 3 TDs?
Hopefully the game is over by halftime and Brennan plays the whole second half. He needs the game experience. Barring an injury to Burrow I would like to see Brennan only play in 4 games so as to preserve his redshirt.
You make a great point about 4 game rule Brennan is right there with Burrow in ability and talent ... Not a noticeable drop per O! IDEA: WHY WASTE ONE OF BRENNAN’S 4 GAMES ON SE LA? WHY NOT PLAY BRENNAN LATER IN THE SEASON AND GET HIM INTO BETTER QUALITY GAMES WITH TEAMS THAT HAVE SECONDARIES THAT CAN BE TOASTED ... Anyone come to mind? PICK 4 GAMES RIGHT NOW WHERE YOU PUT MILES BRENNAN IN TO PLAY & KEEP A YEAR OF ELIGIBILITY! 1. Auburn 2. Florida 3. MS State 4. TX A&M
Put him in this week! An injury to Joe could happen anytime. Get Brennan as many reps as you can as quickly as you can. Then later if you don't need him hold him out after he played his four games.
Ensminger is the OC and himself was rotated with Woodley. If they get Brennan PT (which I’d like to see), I’d figure they’ll let Burreaux play the first 1.5-2 quarters, build a nice lead, then rotate them each series. I like the latter stats of what Istsl suggests.
Because I would rather him start against a lesser quality opponent. Don't throw the kid to the wolves right off. Play against Southeastern and see how he does. Then decide the caliber of the next opponent.
He has already seen the wolves. He played in the bama game last year. I would rather see him get significant playing time against the Southeasterns and Rices than to only play a series or two vs Auburn or Georgia where every possession is crucial.
