It's a good thing the SEC is so weak this year. The Tigerls can squeak out last gasp wins against inferior teams and still hope to be in the BCS final. The PAC-10 is a far superior conference, with good QBs who wouldn't fold in the clutch a la 'Bama's fumbling John-boy Wilson. Good thing for the SEC that the PAC-10's all-around excellence causes occasional cannibalizing of its best teams. Congrats to LSU for barely winning in games against teams they should dominate.
The odd element of the near-loss to 'Bama was seeing how close a mediocre team with a Junior Varsity QB can come to beating LSU. Perhaps it's a reflection of Saban's coaching and motivational skills compared with Les Miles. With the LSU talent he's been given Miles's team should be winning by 30 points a game.
Does squeaking out such weak wins really identify a potential national champion? Unfortunately, if LSU lucks its way through to face Ohio State in the BCS Final the national crown will not be worn by the nation's best team.
Oregon would handle either of these poseurs without a great deal of difficulty.

I'm not so sure. Oregon has a great offense and a defense that can't stop the run. I easily see them as a 2-3 loss SEC team.

Oh yeah, and as hard as it may be, please don't feed the troll from the post above mine. Eveyone on this board can easily refute everthing he says. We know it and he knows it, so there's no need to reply.

Their loss was at home. Ours was on the road. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, I'm just saying. It is what it is.

The top 5 teams in the PAC-10 could beat anyone in the SEC on any given Saturday. However, the PAC-10 is a finesse league. If ANY of them had to play an SEC schedule week in/week out and be exposed to the physicality of our league, they would have 2-3 losses easily.

Herby is in the opinion that if Kansas wins out and LSU wins out, Kansas will be the Auburn of 2007. I tend to agree.

Except I think the Auburn team that got screwed is much better than this Kansas team. Kansas will drop 2 of the next 3 I think.

Our total yards in penalties was around 5 times the amount of rushing yards the tide earned.

Take our the penalties and there isn't a team outside of Oregon who can hang with us. So if we complete the rest of the season with convincing wins will you retract your statement? Or just vanish from the boards completely?

Except that if a one-loss LSU team finishes ahead of an undefeated BCS conference team, that will hopefully cause even more controversy for the BCS system than when an undefeated Auburn was 3rd behind two other undefeated BCS teams.
