LSU really did pull off an amazing feat, but if you think about it, with 15 penalties and 3 interceptions, it is incredible we pulled it off, which shows the determination of our team. However, with all this talk about Kansas and Oregon, you begin to wonder if they deserve a NC slot: Kansas schedule: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/teamsched?teamId=2305 They haven't played one ranked team this season other than #24 Kansas State (oh boy!) Oregon's schedule: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/teamsched?teamId=2483 They've played 3 ranked teams, lost to Cal at home and won over an overestimated USC team (as this season has shown). If you consider Arizona States schedule: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/teamsched?teamId=9 it wasn't so hard to beat a team that's only played #21 in their season. This is a season of teams like Arizona St, South Florida, and Boston College just having great win seasons against sub par teams. This is why the BCS needs a playoff system because teams like this get to the NC on technicality. Now, Oregon may be the real deal, and we will see how the tide turns but should they jump LSU? Hell no...we may be playing ****ty games but we're playing ****ty games in the SEC. We've played 6 ranked teams so far...Oregon? 3...one was a loss, one was to an overrated USC and one to a not-deserve-to-be-ranked Arizona St. Come on, that would be bogus for Oregon to jump us.
I have no doubt that Oregon will jump us the computers. SC lost again this week and none of our other opponents beat anyone of signifigance. Oregon just beat an undfeated, top 5 team. Their SOS will rise while ours has fallen. I think the voters will probably put them above us too. If they dont, then Oregon will only be afew points behind.
I think all this ranking at this stage is still moot if the team doesn't continue to concentrate on improving themselves, esp. in the penalty arena. IF they continue to correct things and taking care of business, good things would naturally come. They can then make a strong case for them to be deserving to be in the NC Championship.
