Re: Les to Michigan already underway??

Having watched Jack DeL Rio coach over the past few years I would love to see him as the new LSU coach. He would truly be committed to sticking with the job and could possibly bring LSU to a level of dominance in the SEC that would compare to the Spurrier and Bryant eras over many years. Spurrier would have been a great hire several years ago, but now it would only be a short term solution. That said, I would definitely take him if Del Rio doesn't work out.

:hihi: .... that's funnier than the Spurrier rumor :hihi:

BTW, it'll never happen because Tuberville isn't going anywhere this season. and neither is Spurrier.

How can you possibly know that? He's a fUSC alumn. Scenario: no-pete retires just about the time Del Rio has a MNC-type year here in Baton Rouge, and we're right back were we are now.

I don't expect a guy to be here 20+ years unless we knew he bled purple & gold before hand. Let's not get caught up with a coach like alabumble, just keep the 10-win seasons rolling along. The MNCs will be there every so often.

Spurrier may not want another job, but he may retire. He is 62 now and loves golf. He admittedly is not a hard worker by todays coaching standards and I am just concerned his best years, especially his innovative ones, are behind him. His past accomplishments are ancient history to the new recruits, especially outside of FLA.

Thats a bold statement for a guy that hasn't ever coached a day of college football.

He's not from Jacksonville either, yet Jack would stay in Jacksonville til he could coach no more if the circumstances were right. Unfortunatley Jacksonville is doing a terrible job of supporting the Jaguars. Give Jack support and an opportunity to win, he'll stay.
