Re: Les to Michigan already underway??

Ok here is the deal, you could assemble a staff of the greatest coaches of all time and not consistently win championships. Nobaody has ever done it, and probably never will. Things happen and sometimes luck does not go your way. Injuries, recruits coming and going, off the field issues, all have to fall.

The key here is finding a guy that like you said thinks that the LSU coaching job is the tip of the iceburg, and one that gets the most out of his team.

Miles is a good coach, he does some unorthodox and questionable things, and doesn't say the right things and appears completely lost at times, but he is a good coach. There is no way in hell he would be where he is for as long as he has, careerwise, if he wasn't. He is just not a guy that is gonna beat you on gameday. That is my knock on him.

I think with coaches, none are great at all aspects, but the head coach of a program in our position must be a gameday coach. You hire coordinators that are great recruiters if that is your flaw. You get position coaches that could fire up a cancer patient if that is your flaw. etc. etc. But you have to be a gameday mastermind.

MIles just doesn't fit this bill, and to make it worse he comes off as sort of a dummy when he talks. He probably isn't, but he makes himself appear that way.

Whats it look like? Engines under the wings or at the back? Any markings? The only planes supposed to be there now are some regional jets.

Absolutely not. I like Bo and hope he stays on as DC, but we need an experienced HC with an impressive track record. I would go with Spurrier or Rodriguez.

LSU screwed up by not recruiting him from CHS, he will win, and will win often. You wait too long and you miss completely. :geaux:
