Pictures from the past – From today’s Memphis, TN Commercial Appeal ----- Rick Speers of the LouisianaStateUniversity rugby team sloshed and splashed his way to score in a match on a soggy Sunday between his team and the Memphis Wanderers. A Wanderers player tried to stop Speers but all he got was wet. LSU won the match at Tobey Park 18 to 0. The Memphis player is not identified. About one-half inch of rain soaked Memphis during the match on Nov. 9, 1975.
