No. I believe the ball came out just before his elbow hit.

 

I don't think he ever had possession of the ball and thats why it was overturned. Did the official announce the reason the play was overturned ? I was jumping up and down at that point and may have missed it.

 

I think he caught the ball, held onto the sides of the ball, fell on the ground, the nose of the ball hit the ground and shifted in his hands. He hangs onto the ball. Now, I don't know the rules for judging this a catch. I do know it has nothing to do with elbows hitting the ground because no matter what part of your body is down, a player must control the ball. I presume they judged it not a catch when the ground made the ball move or shift in his hands.

As far as JPW's fumble. There was no question it was a fumble. Chad Jones flinging him through the air and the football hitting his knee and flying out of there before he goes down.

 

Wrong. These two interpretations should clear it up for you. All it has to do is touch the ground. The fact that he kept it under his body has nothing to do with it.

I don't think these rules apply. He held on to the ball. He had firm control of the ball all the way down. It just moves a little in his hands when the nose of the ball contacts the ground. See if there is a rule about that in there Khounba.
