Agree with his politics or not, any fair-minded individual has to give Rush credit for not only saving AM radio in America, but for redefining (if not outright creating) the genre of talk radio. Driving home from my trip last night, I had XM Patriot on and the host was Stacy Washington (Stacy on the Right). Early in the show, she went to the phones and there was technical difficulty. You could clearly hear she was flustered and had trouble getting on track. This never happened to Rush. He took callers, but listening to him, there was never any doubt that he could go 3 hours just on his prepared material. Simply a phenomenal broadcast personality.
I listened religiously during the Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton and some of W administrations. He was thoughtful and took more of a philosophical look at politics. He was perhaps the greatest advocate of conservative principles in modern history. I’ll always remember him for those times. Rest In Peace El Rushbo
