I have quite a few I wear them year round in lovely state of Florida, and win or lose, the Gator fans over here almost always have nice and respectful things to say about our Tigers. This was so funny though (short story here) I,m picking up a few things at the local "Super Wal-Mart" with the wife this evening. We were at the Deli waiting for some stuff to be sliced up when my wife nudged, a whispered. "Hey" there a guy over there staring at us. Some old big dude scouting around in the pizzas. But every once in a while he,d glance my way, finally he finished his pilferring and turned around, glanced at me giving me a bit of a dirty look and walked off. It only then dawned on me that "dude" had an Alabama shirt on. I just smiled as he walked by...Now as all this went on, there was another guy behind me an obvious Gator fan ( you could tell by the cap). We kinda glanced at each other and he looked at Bama dude walking away and said pretty loudly "Geaux Tigers"!!! I had to laugh, never have I been so proud of my LSU caps!!! LOL...guys, I'm telling the truth, it happened just that way! :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
nice. don't forget to tell Bammers that Nick is going to dump them like a packed turd within two years. they always love that one.
I live in Austin Tx. and a couple of months ago my waiter gave us free drinks on my tab because he saw my LSU hat!!! He was from Baton Rouge!!!:geauxtige
Speak of the devil...the wife and I made our first trip to Whole Foods' downtown location yesterday. We were looking for peanuts to boil (impossible to find here.) The kid stocking the produce section was really helpful, and it turns out he's from Lafayette. This came up because he asked if I was from Alabama, since I wanted boiled peanuts. I nearly chewed him out, but then just said "Baton Rouge." He got all friendly at that point (not too friendly, like you'd expect in certain parts of other states.)
I use to live in Jax too. I use to go to the one on San Jose Blvd in all my LSU gear and get some of the craziest looks. :hihi:
I do get a few strange looks from time to time, but everyones been nothing but nice. They tell me things now, like, "hope you guys make it all the way" etc Well, this is a new Wal-Mart, opened up over on Phillips Hwy between Emerson and University. Really, cracked me up the Gator fan when he did that. Guess he's not a big Bama fan...LOL :geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux:
