Listened to Jordy Hultburg's Sunday Night Live just now. He was in the locker room after the game, and here's what he says happened after Jacob Hester gave Coach Miles the game ball. Coach Miles thanked the players, then told them he wanted all eyes on him. He then took off his hat, and (I'm obviously paraphrasing) said that the next player on his team that got a personal foul would no longer be on the team. He asked them if they understood, and they said in unison "Yes sir!". He then congratulated them on the win, and said "now let's get back to Baton Rouge." Obviously, this is probably just some hyperbole to get the young men's attention. I'm guessing what he really means is a clear, inexcusable personal foul like throwing a punch, or a blatant late hit or something. What it tells me is that Monday is going to be a long, tiring day for those folks who will have to watch the video of their penalties over and over and over again. That was Jordy's take on it and I think he's around Coach Miles enough to know what to expect. Can they turn this around in time for Ole Miss? :geaux:
If Miles is like my old high school coach, Stewart will wear his helmet for the entire week. To class, to meals, to bed....all week. Of course that won't happen, but it would have happened in high school. I hope CLM is serious about stopping the STUPID penalties. It sure would help.ldskule:
I expect that if they run enough wind sprints, they will figure out that fouls are bad. Personal fouls are very bad, I'm thinking CLM will have something a little extra besides running for those offenders....I expect a fairly clean game next week, if there are a lot of fouls it won't be a pleasant week of practice the following week. IMHO, Jacob Hester's headbutt to that Bama player when they rallied around him was perfectly fine. I understand the penalty but if some gumps start crowding around one of our best players trying to insinuate a fight I would headbutt someone too.
He also said that Miles asked for all cameras to be turned off before he said this. He can deny he said that a week from now if, let's say, Matt Flynn somehow had a personal foul called on him.
whoa he head butted a fan??!!! just kidding, i know what you meant. no one mentions the fact that the bama player ripped hester off of the bama runner after the play and then taunts him, unfortunately the retaliation always gets flagged.
Uh...when did Hester headbutt an Alabama fan? If you're talkin about the play where he made the tackle in the Bama sideline all he did was shove a Bama player back, they were all crowding around him so I don't blame him. He showed he wasn't gonna back down but the officials will throw the flag on that most of the time too.
I saw him say something like 'The guys on this team aren't going to like me very much when we get back to Baton Rouge.' I'm not convinced that discipline is something that can be remedied in the middle of the season, but I certainly hope that we find a way to do so.
