Great point on the QB coaching. Look JJ has talent, but his SIMPLE high school play style will not work in this league. this falls under coaching to correct this, if they are even trying. IF they are and he's not getting it, time for Shepard.
You are making a lot more out of what Im saying here. Ive said many times I can accept loses. What gets me though is the team isnt improving. They are making the same mistakes. This is a two year process where LSU is mired in mistakes, far too many penalties. Thats on coaching and discipline. I know titles are few and far between, which Ive said many times. I just dont like seeing a team being put out there every week that isnt improving in the least bit. I know you will have a bad game, maybe lose one you shouldnt. Fine, but weve yet to play a SINGLE good HALF in all facets. If you fine with that, great. Im sorry that Im competitive and have high expectations. Yes part of it is being spoiled in recent years. Look, Ive always been a Tiger fan and always will be. No matter how high or low things get. Ill always love watching LSU and Ill always be emotional about them.
Problem is, we'll never know, cause they never gave him a chance. When your team only puts up 3 points the entire game, there is no downside to putting RS in the game and I don't mean under center. At any position. Just get the ball in his hands. Why burn his redshirt if you're not even gonna use him in one of the biggest games of the season???
Bingo...those calling for Shep to play is not a call for him to replace JJ, we just want the ball in Shep's hands in sort of fashion. The guy gets positive yards. Pick up a first down here, pick up a first down there and who knows how different the outcome could have been.
What kind of asinine comment is this? RS was, in some polls, the #1 high school recruit last year. The coaching staff has stated repeatedly that we need to get him 10-12 touches a game as either a QB, RB or wideout because he's a game changer. Members of the team have stated their amazement at what he does on the practice field. The assertion that is most ridiculous is YOURS homeboy! If we don't use our shiftiest, multitalented threat in some capacity when nothing else works against the quickest, best defense in the land then we are not playing to win the game. Coaches fault! Game management, player management both getting F's for the way this offense full of 5* athletes come off as dull and ranking at 109 of 120 in the land. Your assertion that "If he would have helped, he would have played. That's the bottom line" shows the speaker as an ignorant football observer who deserves no consideration. If you can't back up your position in an intelligent way please don't waste educated football lovers time with scant sideline inaccuracies.
We lack experience at the QB position nothing is going to overcome that, except game time. To that statement you have ask yourself who gives you a better opportunity next year, JL or JJ. In my opinion JJ does, but only if RS is included in the mix. JL may get us an extra victory this year, but we would be no better for it next year. As for blame lay it on the feet of Pariloux as neither of young QBs would be forced to take control of our team before they are ready if he had not been a turd:tigereye:.
Yeah but he won that one with the Zooker's players, just like Miles won with Tricky Nicky's players. I figure when people here make the statement that Miles won with Saban's players, it should also apply to CUM's first championship team.
Regardless of who played at QB, etc I was just so shocked I guess as were the folks watching with me at how vanilla our offense was. We all kind of figured heck its a shot at number 1 in the country, you knock them off and who knows how much you rise in the polls. So figured LSU would at least take a chance and throw caution to the wind in some form and release a Blitzkrieg offense or something they wouldn't be expecting. Insteaed we get an offense that Katy High school would run and possibly better. Your QB can't throw the ball, looks like a deer in the headlights, you abandon the run its seems so what are you left with. B
I don't understand why the coaches stood by Lee for so long last year, but yet will not give him a single chance this year. I also remember listening to a pre-season interview with Miles about QB position. I specifically remember him saying that Lee's offseason improvement was "unbelievable" and that there will be times this year when he'll turn to Lee and ask him to go out and win one for the team....................I guess this is coming from the same guy that said this was the best Oline since he's been here. I'm not sure what I'm trying to say here, but I think that Lee should be given a shot to lead the team. He needs a chance with this year's defense and another year of experience under his belt. I know a lot of people believe that the he'll pick right back up with the pick sixes, but I look at them as growing pains and would like to believe that he's improved. Did we suffer through all of them for nothing? Put him in the game. I'm sure the coaches see something that I don't though.
