Just seems that they rarely talk about the game. Their scripted comments take priority over what is happening on the field.
I definitely agree with what everyone has mentioned so far. I wish that Cox Sports would do a live broadcast. I enjoy the replay of the games that they show on Sundays. It's definitely preferable to the CBS broadcast, if you can get over the "high-school football" feel to it.
I think that Verne and Gary are OK individually, but I don't think their chemistry is that great. I used to be down on Blackledge, but he is better on the ESPN Saturday night games. I wish CBS would lure Ron Franklin away from ESPN\ABC and have him replace Verne. He's the best voice in college football and he is languishing at the Mickey Mouse network.
When Bama scored on the long pass that went right between Jones and Steltz right before halftime, Danielson said "You can't have better coverage than that!" I'll go ahead and disagree with you there considering he still caught the ball. :insane:
To me........Verne isn't the problem. Gary Danielson is the problem. For starters he has this nasally northeast voice that is grating and then he knows everything like Tim McCarver. He is the worst. During the Kentucky game if he had said the TE's name one more time..."Taaaammy"....I was gonna puke. Hire anybody over that doofus.
Danielson is the King of dead horse beaters. By the middle of the 3rd quarter, I would venture a guess that we were all painfully aware that Jackson's ill-advised PF was a turning point in the momentum. Yet, after every other play, we had to hear about it again.
