When do cops ever talk about who they are interviewing? Best I can tell, this story broke when Collins' agent reported that Collins was returning to BR to speak with the police. I don't think he needs to be cleared of anything, they have said he's not a suspect and his lawyer says he has an alibi. He's always been a man of good character. But perhaps they think he hasn't told everything he knows about the people involved and suspect he's protecting somebody. There is something here that we don't know about. The timing makes no sense. Why would the BRPD do this publicly two days before the draft and then not even meet with him until after the draft? Why is Collins and his lawyer NOT screaming bloody murder about that? Why has Les been silent? Why would Collins return to BR before he needed to do so? Why is everybody making such a big deal out of Collins being called as a witness since he is not a suspect and has an alibi?
All good questions @red55 while the BRPD has done some shady things to/with LSU athletes this is strange. Maybe Collins et al misjudged how serious this is but it seems he should have been more proactive in his actions as you said.
I could see both Collins going today in the draft. Jalen for sure. La'el some team will take a shot, too many teams need OL help.
I just freaking said this. If he has an alibi then what is the issue? @tirk knows but I will let him post it. I saw it on Forensic Files, We were discussing it last night on my drive to the metropolis that is Wichita Falls.
What do you want, a cookie? I was agreeing with you, damn it. OK LSUDad, either name the names or STFU about it.
I'm thinking he must have some involvement beyond being the ex. If he is "clear" then there is nothing that will stop me from proving it on the eve of the biggest day of my life.
He's getting conflicting advice more likely. His agent is only concerned with his draft status and salary potential. But his lawyer is concerned with his legal status and possible consequences. The lawyer will be advising him to keep his mouth shut and let the police do whatever it is they want to do. He will get a chance to prove himself in court if they charge him with something. If it comes to nothing, there will be a very big civil lawsuit against the police, the city, and whoever else is involved in leaking a simple investigation timed to destroy his draft chances. Collins will be able to prove almost exactly how much money this cost him.
