If we really did get Hawkins I would guess that means we aren't getting Carter.

You never know really. Some say X is a silent commit, but it's all rumor.

Hawkin sounds like Saban kind of player. He is unselfish & a team player.

"Burke said it's not Hawkins' style to bring attention to himself. Instead, he enjoys giving praise to his teammates.

When the Vikings went through a four-game stretch without Hawkins scoring a touchdown, Burke said the last thing he had to be concerned about was an angry Hawkins demanding the ball. He enjoyed watching his teammates excel."

I would say if we get Hawkins it is to replace Watson, not Carter. We still want Carter.

It actually sounds like Hawkins might be a significant upgrade
from Watson if it all plays out.

I really hope that Xavier Carter commits. Early and Xavier I believe are the #1 and #2 WR's in the country. We would be loaded at WR if we get Carter.

Saban said he wanted 3 wr's, 2 ends and a slot man. Hawkins, Doucet, and Carter meet this

That would be quite a haul at WR. Doucet and Carter are the top two WR's in the nation by some rankings, and I don't think either of them are out of anyone's top ten WR's. Hawkins is highly regarded as well.

If we get all of these guys, when you consider that we have Skyler and we signed Hill, Bowe and Davis only last year--all of whom appear to be major talents--we will be in good shape at the WR position for years.

So is Hawkins definetly being recruited at WR? Maybe CS has got CB plans for this guy.
