You could very well be correct. Just an absolute shame.

I just wish this would have come out a couple of weeks ago and joe pa would not have passed up the great Eddie Robinson for total wins.

Maybe they can put an asterisk in the books.

No .. I'm not defending Paterno .. I'm just admitting that I was not in the Grand Jury room, have not heard any real evidence outside of what the pathetic media has "created" for ratings purposes, and believe in the US constitution regarding "innocent until proven guilty".

I mean really Issy ... to read the opinoins of people, you'd think that Paterno's not going all vigilante on this case is worse than Sandusky committing the crime, .. worse that Curly and Schultz sweeping it under the rug. [which btw ... I have no evidence to believe you regarding Joe sweeping it under the rug, but I do have the indictments of Curly and Schultz regarding the matter].

There are only a few things clear to me regarding this issue, and they are the only one's supported by the indictmemts.

    - Sandusky is a low life scum bag who molested some kids
    - Curly and Schultz followed up with the Grad Student on the issue after being informed by Paterno of the issue, and Curly and Schultz did absolutely nothing about it. .. then lied about knowing anything about it.

As to whether Paterno was part of a coverup .... I've seen no evidence for such. No such evidence has even been mentioned. But I have heard a lot of public opinion indicting Paterno for failing to report it to the State police.

No suprise ... the first two bullets, supported by the indictments have pretty much faded from the news. OTOH, The public opinion of what Paterno should have done has taken center stage.

Like I said, Paterno broke no laws .. he DID report the issue to his higher authority. .. .the AD.

The athletic administration told Sandusky several years ago that he could no longer use the university facilities - nothing said to the police. Sounds like they knew something had been going on and instead of reporting the crime to the authorities they tried to protect Penn State. The moral failure and lack of integrity of those Penn State authorities, including Joe Pa, is unbelievable. Jo Pa’s inaction/action reminds me of those Catholic Bishops who kept Priests’ child molestation quiet. It is just bad. It is unforgiveable. Saddly this may be the only punishment that the state can give Joe Pa.

These threads are appropriate in any sports forum among serious fans of the sport.

You want to talk about some shiet ....

    Paterno told Curley ...

    - Curley is being indicted on covering up the gig and lying to authorities

    Here's the kicker .....

    Paterno is getting fired ..

Curley is being put on administrative leave.

I think these words pretty much sum up the firing of Paterno ..

" these decisions were made after careful deliberations and in the best interests of the university as a whole."

IOW ... the publicity of all this and Paterno's name comming up ain't looking to good for the UNIVERSITY .. so let's try to make good with the public by firing Paterno ....

... but Oh ..btw .. we'll just put the indicted guy, Curley on Administrative leave.

... what a bunch of lying, beaurocratic, forked tongued hypocrits.

Any truth to the rumor that Sandusky will replace Nutt?

While this is appreciated, once you've testified something to a grand jury, it doesn't really have to be proven.

    Correct.

The man had an office across the goddamn street for 9 years after the incident happened.

To anyone trying to defend Paterno, what do you think, Joe Pa thought they were playing footsies in the shower? You think Paterno wanted to see his good friend Sandusky's life ruined as well as his beloved and sacred football program?

9 years. Nobody spoke up. Many people knew. Joe Pa was one of those people. 9 years.
