There are many problems with the logic in the OP. The biggest one is that the tax burden for a family making 52 K would not approach 30% even if SSI and Medicare are included, but otherwise at least the math is right. The problem with illegal immigration is that there is no soloution unless a guarded fence is on the border. Neither of the two teams is willing to take the political flack associated with erecting one.
Totally untrue. There are many other solutions but no one wants to allow them. Do not allow undocumented aliens to use services they don't pay for. Ramp up border raids and come down hard on people who employ them knowingly. There are hundreds of solutions but no one will sack up and enforce our laws.
I can think of a solution: No legal ID/SSN/legal green card or work permit... no government provided services. No emergency room care, no dental care, no office visits. No rent subsidies, no food stamps. Which of course, is something that neither of the two teams are willing to take the "political flak" for. Eff that.... if I sneak into Mexico am I getting rent subsidies? However, we cannot get spending under control unless we take care of this massive problem. It's time to make the uncomfortable decision and cut all these services.
I have another scenario for you.... Joe Legal has a kid with Autism who has received medicare for 2 years to help with the cost of therapies that his child needs but it gets canceled because Jose Illegal also has a kid with Autism that the state must provide services for.
I am about ready to give up on this country. From Immigration to socialism, politicians are just crap! I don't take this country, those who have served or died or what I say here litely either. My wife went into the school administration building here in Aurora, Co at her lunch break and the place was full of fill in the blank. They drive around here in new vehicles with big Mexican flags attached to them. They break the law when they come here, they show disrespect for our laws and our country and the politicians pander to them! Both parties are entrenched and no one outside of Tom Tancredo will do anything to fix these problems. Look at the way he is treated by the media and many others for his views. The wife and I had this very discussion last night. No one is willing to do the right thing and enforce the law. If we were to ever do any nation building maybe it should be in Mexico? Just a thought!
