Re: Update on Jay-B The day keeps getting closer:thumb: Well Dr. Ondrey called me yesterday about 6:00 and I typed the update and Caringbridge lost it! So I'm trying again today. He said he feels good letting Justin return home this upcoming week.
Re: Update on Jay-B the best news i have heard in a long time and what most of us have been waiting for! congrats justin. i know you are ready to get home!:thumb:
Re: Update on Jay-B I'm very happy that Justin is approaching the date to return home. His recovery has to be proof that prayers work!
Re: Update on Jay-B I agree with you Stacey I am so glad that the day is almost here, Justin is getting ready to go home to the great state of Louisiana.
Re: Update on Jay-B 290 Days away from home……. Day +136 post transplant WE CAN HEAD HOME! Read last nights journal entry to see how great our weekend was. Okay…for today. Labs at 9:30 and Dr. Wagner at 10:00. The clinic was packed today. We sat for thirty minutes without being called to the back. Dr. Wagner came out into the lobby and asked if Justin’s’ labs were drawn. No, but he said come on to the back anyway, we’ll grab them afterwards. He did go in today just to see us! After questioning his health and status from the week, he examined Justin and proclaimed him ready to head home! He addressed moms’ concerns and I know I will have forgotten at least one important question. Not to worry, I have his cell number, email address and clinic numbers. Of course now we are at the mercy of the jet. I was told this could take a few days…ugh! I will be patient and trust in the Lord. Still have commercial flights to fall back on. Other BMT moms can let me know how it went ….commercial flight were okay for you? All his counts went up from Friday! THANK YOU JESUS I was really calm this morning before this appointment and knew that I was not alone. I know heading home is frightening but it’s a step we must take. It will be nice to be among friends and family, and to go to church! Join me in thanking our LORD for hearing and answering our prayers. Of course this is yet another beginning for Justin and I. Another hurdle to cross, so please keep praying along with us. Justin is napping and mom has packing to do, so I need to close now. Just wanted to let our faithful followers know that we have arrived at this day that we thought would never arrive. You all have supported us in this journey and we couldn’t have come this far without you all! O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth forever! 1 Chronicles 16:34 This is my scripture for Monday April 21, all our best, Julie and Justin
Re: Update on Jay-B It looks like many prayers have been answered. I know JayB and his mom will be thrilled to be back home in Louisiana.
How can I put into the words the thankfulness I have in my heart for each and every one of you? You’ve trod this inconceivable path with my nephew and sister, supporting them along the way. You’ve offered words of encouragement and solace during times of doubt. We can’t possibly say how much your support means to us. Now, we’ve reached another milestone in that Julie and Justin are COMING HOME! They are scheduled to fly home at the end of this week, and we are busily preparing the house for their arrival! What a joyous occasion! They are flying in on a private jet via Houma and will be driven home by our sister Cindy. Gerald, meanwhile, will be driving their vehicle home from Minnesota, so please keep him in your prayers for a safe and uneventful trip home. I would also like to tell you that we are selling raffle tickets to raise funds for the medical expenses. They are $2 each, and if anyone would like to purchase tickets, or should you want books of tickets to sell to your family and friends, my cell number is below. Again … THANK YOU. Even Christ himself fell beneath the weight of his cross … and Simon helped bear the burden. In that very act, God tells us that we cannot do it all on our own. We need each other’s support. We need each other’s comfort. You’ve helped bear an unbelievably heavy burden … may God bless you all. Joel 985.438.0169 [email protected]
