From Dandy Don: LSU Head Coach Nick Saban will be in Shreveport Wednesday to watch Jacob Hester play soccer and will have an in-home visit with him later in the day. Hester has already committed to LSU. Predicition: Saban is trying to convince the two star Hester to walk on in order to free up another scholarship. Any thoughts?
If that is the case, it would be bad for trying to repair the bad relationship LSU has with Evangel... not that I'm an Evangel fan or anything, but it's just stupid to have a bad relationship with one of the best high school football programs in the nation.
How are the kid's grades and ACT scores? He may be asking him to go on TOPS until a football scholly opens up later.
I think he is asking him to go on TOPS, if that is in fact why he is seeing him. I think I read somewhere that Saban is trying to talk to some honor students about walking on and getting an academic scholarship so we can get some more players. I think that is a smart move.
Do any other Evangel football players play soccer, especially underclassmen? Do you think this gives Saban a chance to be seen at Evangel and maybe do some fence mending? I can think of countless ways to spin this information in both positive and negative ways. Why must fans always look for some sort of sinister intention when information like this becomes available?
We don't have a men's soccer team, so we cannot give him a scholly in that. Maybe you are reading to much into all of this.
