You've got to keep it real, if you are like msot of my friends, you have an LSU decal, so anywhere you go, people are know what type of stipes you have. As a matter of fact, find the most Saban Bashing shirt you can find, and wear it. We've got your back, :thumb:
You mean Bama bashing shirt. Come on...we need to get over this. BTW, some LSU dudes just cruised in...its on. :thumb:
I had more trouble at Shoney's in Prattville wearing an LSU ball cap during IRON bowl week than I had at any LSU-Bama game. Some elderly lady came over to where I was eating and snidely said " you got a lot of nerve wearing that hat up in here". the whole place was decked out in Bama gear. the gumps were out in full force. the lady at the hotel I was straying at confided in me that she hoped Auburn kicked their butts. they did too. LOL It was the week after we messed Bama's 6-0 record up and their ranking. What was it two yrs ago? shrugs. I wear my LSU stuff EVERYWHERE I go EVERYDAY. At least a hat, usually a shirt too. I briefly take it off on sundays if I go to church service, but I have an LSu tie so sometimes its all good then too.
Thinking about this thread, I realize what it's like to live in a border town like Huntsville. I once had a friend suggest that Huntsville was about evenly divided between AU, UA and UT fans, based on tags and window stickers. Not too far off, I guess. However, the town is so cosmopolitan, that it doesn't matter whom we play - Michigan, Penn St., etc., their flags are up and flying all over town. Hell, if we played Germany in the World Cup, black, gold and red would be flying all over town. I guess it's sort of "color desensitization." In addition, the fraternity I pledged as an undergraduate had purple, green and gold as colors, and then there are the Mardi Gras colors. Wear what you want...
And ripped the wiper arms off of my car. That was the only incident I have experienced in about 30 away games. I have never had a problem at Bama. I have been 4 times, and I can only remember 1 person who I would consider rude.
I have about 150 cousins living within 10 miles of Snead Crossroad in Blount County and they are exclusively devout Auburn fans--except for one who is a devout Bama fan. Most families have a black sheep or two that they nod over at and whisper "wife beater", "gay", or "drug addict". In my family, they shake their head about M.C. and whisper, "He's an Alabama fan". Of course M.C. is my favorite cousin, so they whisper about me for being "an LSU fan who hangs out with a Bama fan".
I was in Columbus, OH Last week (10/21-24) and wore LSU the entire time I was there, minus the meetings I attended. I got alot of Looks and Stares, but it was more out of confusion as to why this Tiger fan was in Columbus wearing Purple and Gold. Only one Ohio St. fan said anything to me, and it was at a Sports Bar. His coimment was.... Hope we don't see you all in the NC game..... :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
Hmmmm, those guys gotta be complete idiots. Of course they could always say it was out of respect for "Da Bear", but I.m guessing some of them "good ole boys" may not see it that way. May be black and blue at the end of the game instead of purple and gold. I do applaud their creativeness.
