or should we go incognito? Been to other SEC games and took a little ribbing, nothing serious, but heard a lot bad stories about bama fans being especially vile and abusive to LSU fans. My mom and my girlfriend are going with us and we would rather avoid the trouble. Should we wear our LSU gear or is it to risky. We can deal with the verball abuse, just don't want the women to be hurt or abused.

all these stories are ridiculous. all sec stadiums and fanbases are pretty much the same. wear your purple and gold, have a great time, and cheer loudly. :thumb:

    their will be no problems.

I wore purple and gold to Bama in 2005 and didn't get harassed much before the game. After the win we had a few vulgar comments yelled at us but that is almost to be expected from bitter fans.

My husband tried to jump a truck load of guys leaving T-ville that night... the crown told him he could handle six 18yr olds. My friend and I were able to reason with him... I mean the crown.

We're going back this year and bringing more LSU fans with us. I could care less what they yell at us as long as we win.

I am not going but I wore ALL purple and gold to the swamp! I didn't have any problems in fact I had a blast and everybody was nice, even after we beat them!

So if you can do it there I think you can do it everywhere!

Even if you weren't in purple and gold, the locals might figure somthing is up if you're not decked out in red or houndstooth or both while holding a Bear and/or Saban doll that says "Roll Tide" when you pull a string on its back.

But, seriously, while every fanbase has their jerks, most will be friendly, or at least non-confrontational. I hate it when I read all the exaggerated (and often untrue) stuff about LSU's fans, so please don't feed the same kind of thinking about other SEC schools. Wear your purple and gold, and wear it with pride!

Now, this was many years ago, but cousins of mine went to an away game at Bama with the same thinking, and came back saying they had never been treated better at an SEC school.

Wear the Purple and Gold. As long as you don't wear an asshat you won't likely have a problem. Rival fans will be taunted in every stadium in the SEC, just smile and yell Tiger bait! If a rare hooligan really gets in your face, just call the cops on your cellphone.

Rumors, innuendos, and outright fabrications about "somebody else's fans" are all over the internet, repeated endlessly, embellished, and should not be taken as facts. Too many folks posting stuff out there are into smack instead of football.

If you go to Bama to have a good time, you will find one. If you find an assclown, avoid him and enjoy yourself.

    I wouldn't recommend doing this.

That's just asking for trouble, especially if they try to parade those around the frat houses.

Bottom line, like TB3 mentioned, just ignore the idiots. You find them at every stadium.

I had a ball in bama in 03.Alls you gots to do is mingle up to a few bama tailgates, get is the good spirits with them, and hang out with them all during pre-game.At least you will have some home friends to keep the spooks away.
