Noone who knows anything about history at all thinks America won the war of 1812. Popular culture, in it's infinite ignorance, forwarded the idea of being undefeated in war - not history.
War of 1812? Some mid major declared war on a heavy weight. The heavy weight, while engaged in war with another heavy weight, was able to slap the mid major around until they shut the hell up and agreed to a peace treaty. Sounds about right?
