Florida over took the Razorbacks as the top offense based on their big win over USC and the poor performance by the Pigs at Tennessee. Guess who leads the league in number of first downs gained by a penalty against their opponent? It's Alabama with almost three per game. Alabama also continues to be the least penalized team in the conference.

LSU moved up to the # 1 defensive team because of Auburn's problems against Georgia. Alabama and Auburn's opponents continue to be the most penalized in league games. Alabama's opponents average 9 penalties for 76 yards per game and Auburn's opponents average 8 penalties for 60 yards per game. Everyone else in the league averages 6 penalties for 47 yards. By the way, the league office continues to be in Birmingham.

The Razorbacks lead the league with 4 first downs per game because of defensive penalties. LSU is second with 3 per game. Everyone else averages less then 3. Alabama is number one with only .57 defensive penalties per game for first downs --- imagine that.

Bama needs all the Help they can get this year, and years to come. So a few refs get to spend the night at Labear Du Bear, and play a few slots on Friday nights. It makes them extra tired on Saturday games, they can't make every call. It's hard work watching other teams hold, and Personally foul Bama players.
