What has happened at Nebraska is that they can't field a team of partial qualifiers, as they did in the Osborne years. When other schools were limited to 2 or 3 - Nebraska had 40 to 50. They had a special program for the partial qualifier. Now, no one wants to the corn fields to play.

certainly would be a big upgrade from where they are now. I would have liked to see bama hire him even though he really doesnt seem to be interested in going anywhere.

it would have been interesting to see bama continually running the toss sweep again (maybe not wishbone) like they did so often with the team under stallings. i hated miami so much i wanted bama to win by 50 in '92. god, please forgive me.

wasnt derrick lassic the running back that year/game?

i know you were up against that heisman disgrace gino torretta. its too bad you guys ran off stallings. he's old but still had some good years left in him.

Lassic was the running back, yes. Remember Lassic's end zone dances? They were awesome.

    No comment on Stallings.

no but i remember copeland and curry and teague the ball stripper.

also #2 david palmer and jay barker who threw about 4 passes all game. i guess thats why palmer didnt do anything unless he ran a punt back I dont recall.

Bob Bockrath. That SOB still ticks me off 'til this day with the way he handled the Ath. Dept. The only thing I credit him for is hiring the basketball coach. But, that wasn't a coup as much as it was a sure thing.

I liked Paul Johnson as well. If I didn't know we had something with Saban going on I would have pushed for Art Briles. He's done incredible things with Houston and when he gets a big name program on his business card I suspect he'll make waves in the BCS.

It's early to make the comparison, but Javier Arenas is showing the same talent Palmer did now as DP did in his last year. I'm sure you know who he is. :thumb:

Teague...can't tell you how much fun it was seeing him pull that play off considering how much Thomas had run his mouth the week before. Although, his hit on the Dallas star rivals it.

I was watching some espn guys debate the Weis situation and they mentioned numbers like $16 million owed to Weis if they fired him now. I think that's the rest of his contract, of which he got an extension last year.

A lot of people don't really want to talk about it, but I think the Willingham/Weis firing deal is a legitimate topic. Boring but legit.

Of course, this couldn't have happened to a better bunch and I'm glad to see the "genius" moniker removed from Weis' name. No matter what kind of recruiting Weis has done the last 2 years, that team doesn't have the players to compete at ANY skill position.

Thank God he's not related to that superstitious mind case. Geez, you ought to google him and find the link about all his quirks.

I also realized that Arenas was guarding Doucet when he broke loose at the end to tie it.. you know the one I am talking about... 4th and 2 or something like that. Yeah... thats right the one that tied the game. :thumb:
