I don't think Les isn't going anywhere this year or the next. LSU is about to cut half of its academic and research departments and fire a third of its faculty to meet the 35% cut ordered for next year that comes on the top of 20% in the previous 2 years. This morning they announced that the state discovered they are $125 million in debt from last year. So there are going to be mid-year cuts on top of that. LSU is going to be a much smaller university, operating on half of its 2007 budget and maybe 8,000-10,000 students will no longer have curriculums to follow here, including many majors popular with athletes. Recruiting will suffer badly with fewer opportunities and deteriorating infrastructure. LSU will be in no financial, ethical, or political position to buy out a head coach for $15 million while the academic programs crumble and thousands of faculty and staff lose their jobs. TAF won't be either. It's a giant chit sandwich and we're all going to take a bite.
Who in the hell does accounting for the state? This is going to be the 3rd straight year of mid-year cuts. That is beyond ridiculous. Higher education in Louisiana is on the Titanic, and the legislature and governor are determined to make everyone go down with the ship, rather than shuttering underperforming schools and redundant programs.
we dont have a month to prep for sec games. 2 minute drill is 90% preparation. repetition. over and over and takes up a lot of many teams practices. or should. this clock management fiasco is the definition of preparation. or lack of.
Try Joe Moglia, as smart as anyone, (Yes, even Saban) wishes to coach football, and probably isn't worried about pay. He runs Ameritrade, a pretty huge trading Corporation. He is very effective at what he wishes to do. Also, he has coached here in Louisiana. Google him. You might be surprised!
i know we talked about this a couple of weeks ago, but i still cant wrap my head around the fact that the lege would still rather have redundant programs, and too many directional schools, at the expense of all higher education. instead of a leaner (size wise) system, we have all this redundancy with everyone being less than half-assed because they cant all be funded. ok. back to your regularly scheduled topic.
