I'm a Husker fan and used to live in Baton Rouge back when Gerry DiNardo was the HC. I have rooted for the Tigers ever since then and RedBeansandRice is actually the name I use on Husker message boards... The reason I'm visiting your message board is that I would like to find out what the Tiger fans' overall opinion of Bo is, and what do you think about him taking the HC position at NU if offered. Tom Osborne will more than likely can the entire coaching staff after the Colorado game Nov. 23rd and Bo Pelini is Husker fans' sentimental favorite to take over the program. He was seen in Omaha and Lincoln a few weeks ago so speculation is that he's already met with TO. The other question I would like to ask is if Les Miles leaves for Michigan or wherever, would Tiger fans want Bo Pelini to take over the HC job at LSU? Nice win over 'Bama and Tenn. Good luck the rest of the way. I appreciate the feedback.
Is this true ? Have seen it thrown around here and there but wonder if it happened. Have also seen "Tuberville visits College Station", Spurrier meets with Bertman, etc. I gotta wonder........
I doubt LSU will offer Pellini the job if Miles leaves. We will want someone with HC experience and someone who enjoys recruiting.
This is a perfect fit. Nebraska long known for its running games and defensive teams, needs to re-identify itself. Giving up 76 points is beyond belief for any Husker fan. They will not make the mistake of hiring an offensive minded coach again. Pelini is the perfect fit for the job. But will he take it after how he was treated before concerning his interview for the head coaching position? With Osborne as the AD, maybe he can ignore the past.
I thinki Pelini will do a decent job as head coach but his hatred of recruiting would sort of bother me as a fan. Guess we will see...
Not without proven head coaching and recruiting experience. OC Gary Crowton has both, plus NFL experience, and would probably have a better shot if LSU were to hire internally. But LSU has had no problem in acquiring the best coach available the last two times they went looking. There are other good coaches looking to upgrade into the SEC and LSU will rob some school of a pretty good coach.
You don't want to stick with Bill Callahan??? That hire was a huge question mark from Day 1. Why did they pursue a man who had just crashed the Raiders into the ground?
