Just now on ABC the announcers were discussing LSU being the likely #2 if BC loses (as it looks like is possible.) Herbstreit said that he thought the Oregon Ducks really looked great. So the other guy pressed him and said "Are you saying that you do NOT think LSU should be #2 if BC loses? Is that what you're REALLY saying?" And Herbstreit had to admit that he wasn't--that he thought LSU would be #2. But he never said he thought they SHOULD be #2. He is so obviously biased against LSU (and the SEC) that I think even the rest of the ESPN crew sees it and dislikes it. Herbstreit is now rooting for BC hard. What a jerk. It's the only way LSU won't be #2 and he's getting very excited about the prospect.:LSU231: :miles:
We didn't play like the number #2 team in the country. We cannot commit so many penalties every game and keep on winning. And FSU just took a interception to the House! So we better start acting like number #2 in the country.
Y'know what? We didn't. BUT, we're 8-1. We are where we are. No use in complaining about it. I mean, do you honestly think that BC was the #2 team? I think LSU has a lot more legitimacy to being #2.
Anyone worried about the "#2 curse"? The teams that have held that slot have been dropping like flies.......like us. Course, no "Slot" has been safe this year.
Oregon may be #2 because LSU is #1. Someone needs to remind Herbstrait that Ohio State hasn't played a team that has been ranked any better than #23. How about: LSU #1 Oregon #2 Kansas #3 WVU #4 Ohio State #5 Oklahoma #6 Just another season where a playoff system would resolve these issues on the field.
The talking heads on ESPN Sportscenter are saying Oregon #2 as well. They are all drinking the Kool Aid and Holtz is spitting it all over the set.
