Like I said, I am a big fan of polls/lists. The band thread is going so well, I thought I would try movies too. Here are some of mine. Keep in mind I am only 28, so some of you may have better ones then me.

Jaws - first movie I have memory of seeing, I still watch it everytime it is on. The shark is an enigma, does not make a screen appearance until halfway into the film.

Halloween - scary because it is so true to life. the music gives me goosebumps.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - no real explanation needed I think.

The Warriors - kinda a stupid film in many aspects, but I enjoyed it. It is from the 70's. If you have not seen it, give it a try.

The Green Mile - I am a fan of almost anything Tom Hanks and Stephen King. This one was really good.

I have many, many more, but I am interested in some of yalls. No porn if possible..... :)

Peabody's mention of Goodfellas reminded me of 2 of my absolute favorites (and I loved Goodfellas too):
    Casino and Pulp Fiction.
I am hopelessly in love with Renee Zellweger for some reason and I have to list Bridget Jones Diary, Chicago and Cold Mountain.

man, i love lists too. i was compiling a personal list of movies i called "the unmissables" but i lost it. all i can remember about it is that boyz in da hood and the great escape were on it. man, the great escape is good.

the one movie i can say that was 100% loved by everyone i have ever met is the shawshank redemption.

and mesquite, you are right about jaws. basically its perfect for the genre. fantastic.

Just want to ditto The Green mile. As simple as this movie was it kept me glued. All played great roles and the acting had to work because it wasn't just blowing stuff up and shooting by holding guns in positions that marksman could not hit a barn with

I like all of the Dirty Harry movies as much as the spaghett westerns.

I rented Barbershop the other night and it was pretty funny.

Two Thumbs up to Saving Private Ryan and We Were Soldiers.

Every Jack Nicholson movie I have ever seen except for Ironweed. Too depressing. I even loved Mars Attack where Jack played the President.

    The Great Escape
    Casino
    Godfather I & II
    Ocean's 11
    The Italian Job
    Jaws
    The Longest Yard
    Field of Dreams
    48 Hours
    Trading Places
    Top Gun
    Apocalypse Now
    Rocky I
    Rambo
    Caddyshack
    The Blues Brothers
    Casablanca
    The Graduate
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
    Spiderman

And all of the Sean Connery James Bond movies.

And Two Thumbs Down to every "chick flick" that me or any of the rest of ya'll has ever had to endure and pretend to enjoy without falling asleep.
