Sorry if this is dumb, this is the first PPV thing that I think I've tried to record with my new DirecTV DVR. I go to channel 777, choose to record the game, but there's no prompt for me to authorize the PPV amount ($21.95, according to DirecTV's website). Do I have to pay via the DirecTV.com website?
You have to call DirecTV to order gameplan. 1-800-GET-SPORTS. Yes, I know it seems like a long number, but that is the number to call, I did it this morning.
My understanding is that for Louisiana residents, this is a PPV game, not a Gameplan game (blacked out for Gameplan customers, in other words, unless a separate PPV purchase is made). I'll give them a call though just to confirm things... thanks!
OK, I think I've figured it out... for non-Louisiana residents, the game is on 777, which is part of ESPN's Gameplan. For Louisiana residents, the game is a PPV-only game, on channel 685. (I got that from www.lsusports.net). I still don't get an option to actually purchase the game using channel 685 though, so I guess I'll order it via the directv website...
