Anybody else love it when Sean Payton chewed out Reggie coming off the field after his fumble?

Their ain't nobody too good that they can't get chewed out.

And the best thing about it, Bush took it in stride. Ain't no T.O. type people on this team. Bet that.

Look for the Saints D to come up big time against the most intimidating offense in football....the Bengals.

    Saints 34-20.

    Bellamy in for Bullocks.

been kinda deaf in one ear from firing too many rifles my doc said long ago. I just told some friends today I didnt realize i can read people's lips better than I should. I like how he didnt want to embarrass him or be seen dogging him yet the camera didnt pan away and he just kind of said it non-chalantly which made it sorta funny. then Reggie looked like a 5yr old who was just punished which made it even funnier. At the time I was pissed however and it wasnt funny one bit.

gotta agree on Payton's playcalling. Have never seen any like it since the WCO of Bill Walsh. I didnt want to admit it but i guess they are not only good but consistent which kinda goes hand in hand i suppose. He always seems to be one step ahead and attacking. He throws the ball in situations no other coach would except spurrier is what comes to my mind when watching as well. 3rd and 1 4th and an inch. Even times I know id run it but colston and brees are so good i guess it makes it easier. Hes pretty fearless but it seems to work.

I like when there was 1:27 left before half on 3rd and 11 for the steelers I said he should call timeout so they have time to score but he won't since coaches dont think that way til they get the ball. He did and they drove down to answer pitts fg. thought that would end up being the difference but copper sucking cancelled that out. Compare that to coughlin running out the clock at close to midfield with 30 seconds against the bears and you see the typical nfl mindset which drives me nuts.

Sadly, I think I would take Payton over little nickie if i had my choice. My nick saban blow up doll is gonna hate me in the morning. Minus the 2 long runs which skewed the stats, their d wasnt that bad either. Saints, otoh, moved at will all game. Did brees and co. surpass 500 yards?

Ryan clark, ex-lsu boy killed us all game with tackles, recovering fumbles and knocking down passes. Faneca is still awesome, nothing changes there.

Saints ended up with 517. Would have been 542 and counting had it not been for the fumble at the end.

The coin flip in OT would have decided the game winner basically. I hate the coin flip. I say some kinda stat should determine the coin flip (e.g., most total yards, most first downs, etc).

What I love, for example, is a 3rd and 1 play and you line up 4 wideouts and you still run the ball. Who does that really? It's painfully obvious to me that's how the game should be played on offense, but nobody seems to get that. One exception is Peyton Manning, the offensive coordinator of the Colts. He's pretty good, actually.

I labeled Sean Peyton genius status after the Buccaneer game. Without Horn, I couldn't see how we were gonna muster any offense. He came out with constant 3 and 4 WR sets. That told me everything I needed to know about this man. He is indeed fearless. I love how that translates into bestowing the utmost in confidence in your players. And thus the results that come from it. It showed with performances like Devery last week and even Copper today (bless his heart, he did actually play well).

he played well the first half then dropped an easy pass to set up the score on the 2nd to last drive then fumbled the final series which would have likely tied it as well. Not sure why devery didnt even catch a pass. Hes not known for going over the middle (soft) or making tough catches but they needed him to counter hines ward as a playmaker. I saw him in there but he was never even thrown to.

the thing that jumps out is not the 4 wide per se but no one in the backfield. Who in the hell doesnt even show run on 3rd or 4th and 1? And how many yards to stecker downfield? hes relegated to fullback and is catching balls as is karney the true fb. everyone gets involved which helps it work i think. And yes, the tight end position is lacking. If brees had anyone half as good as gates like he had at sd i guess they wouldnt need a punter. Conwell was looking good as normal and went down one game after i whispered the word injury. He will never stay healthy.

I keep waiting for brees to look rather human but hes been spectacular. i thought he would be good at best.

(why didnt the yards count after the fumble? they should still count)

Well I meant we fumbled at the 25, which I was wrong, it was the 20. I was counting the last 25 yards to intimate we would have scored and added 25 more yards to our total had we not fumbled (actually 20 since it we fumbled at the 20). So yes, we got credit for the passing yards/passing received.

You're talking as if he's a 3rd or 4th year guy (ala Stillhurt). He's 43 years old. Does it matter anymore if he's healthy?

Billy Miller wasn't that bad a pickup. He was the up and coming TE for the Texans in their first 2 years of existence. In fact, he was one of the few highlites of that terrible offense. Not sure what happened to him. He basically went into exile.

Maybe he can learn the system and be a small component of this offense. We definitely throw enough to the tight ends. We just need better ones. Ones that make more than 3 yard catches.
