Here's a question, especially for lawyers, legal buffs, or those that slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night: If an employer emails employees and ask vaccination status like this:

    A - I'm vaccinated
    B - I'm not vaccinated
C - I'd PREFER not to reveal my status

Can you be shit canned for choosing 'C'?

So I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night. I think you can answer none of your business because you’re protected by HIPA laws. However if he makes it a condition of employment then you’ve got a Hobson’s choice.

Neither a lawyer, nor slept in a holiday inn express recently, but unless they're just devious (and I dont put anything past anyone), I don't think they'd list it as a response if they intended to shit can anyone. At the very least, ask an HR person, maybe in a an email, so their answer is documented in case its needed at a later time.
