This link has the numbers for athletes that will be competing for the US.
    http://coed.com/2016/07/14/summer-o...ities-team-usa-road-to-rio-games-list-photos/

Furd killin it with 27. Rio better lock up it's women.

Kal with 14, bruins with 12, Trojans with 12, Huskies with 11, Ducks with 10.

USC’s participation in the Olympics dates back to 1904, when Emil Breitkreutz’06 traveled to St. Louis, becoming the first USC student to compete in the Olympic Games. Breitkreutz took home a bronze medal in the 800-meter run — marking the beginning of a Trojan Olympic legacy that today is unrivaled.

Since then, USC has produced more Olympians, overall medalists and gold medalists than any other university in the United States.

USC’s star-studded Olympic roster includes 418 Trojans who attended the university before, during or after their Olympic appearances. These athletes have represented 60 countries and participated in 28 different sports, ranging from those generally associated with USC, such as track and swimming, to more unusual sports, such as team handball, canoeing and bobsled. While Trojans traditionally have found their place in the sun during the Summer Olympics, USC athletes also have competed in the Winter Olympics nine times.

All told, USC’s Olympians have won 587 places on Olympic teams, and have taken home 135 gold medals, 87 silver and 65 bronze.

As of the 2012 Olympic Games, if USC were a country entering its athletes in the Olympic Games, its 287 all-time Summer Olympics medals would place it 16th among all participating countries. And in six different Olympics, USC’s medal count would have positioned it among the top 10 competing nations.

Equally impressive is USC’s history of winning Olympic gold. Ever since USC’s first gold medalist, freshmanFred Kelly ’16, earned the gold in the 110-meter high hurdles in Stockholm in 1912, Trojan athletes have won at least one gold medal at every Summer Olympics. This includes the U.S.-boycotted 1980 Moscow games, when swimmer Michelle Ford ’84, competing for her native Australia, captured the gold in the 800-meter freestyle.

 Some Ducks are competing for other countries,..
All Oregon's Olympians are track and field athletes,.. with no swimming, diving, gymnastics or wrestling teams, etc,..the Ducks are hampered by a limited palet,

It's not surprising Stanford leads the pack, they always have more National Champions than anyone, if you are a minor sport athlete well Stanford is for you, they got it all.

Yep, USC is a sports superpower, you've a right to be proud. Good link too, thanks,.. the PAC dominates our Olympic Team.

Yeah, it's not great but there is a reason why so many talented international athletes go to great schools.

Stanford? Oregon? USC? Does the Pac-12 have a playoff team?

    http://espn.go.com/blog/pac12/post/_/id/101488/stanford-oregon-usc-does-the-pac-12-have-a-cfp-team

    Dog shit

University of Washington's Kevin King has never defeated Oregon.
In fact, there are 11 years worth of Washington players who can say the same thing.
And while King didn't guarantee that this would finally be the year his Huskies would beat the Ducks, he said he sure hopes it is.
"The Ducks love to remind us about it," King says in the video above.

The PAC vs the SEC (just don't play often enough)

    Oregon's Out of Conference games
Sep. 3 [IMG] UC Davis Aggies y
    Sep. 10 [IMG] Virginia Cavaliers
Sep. 17 [IMG] at Nebraska Cornhuskers

    USC's OOC games
Sep. 3 [IMG] Alabama Crimson Tide
Sep. 10 [IMG] Utah State Aggies
Nov. 26 [IMG] Notre Dame Fighting Irish

    Stanford's OOC games
Sep. 2 [IMG] Kansas State Wildcats
Oct. 15 [IMG] at Notre Dame Fighting Irish
    Nov. 26 [IMG] Rice Owls

    Washington's OOC games
    Sep. 3 Rutgers Scarlet Knights
    Sep. 10 Idaho Vandals
    Sep. 17 Portland State Vikings

    Alabama's OOC games
    Sep. 3 [IMG] USC Trojans
Sep. 10 [IMG] Western Kentucky Hilltoppers
Sep. 24 [IMG] Kent State Golden Flashes
    Nov. 19 [IMG] Chattanooga Mocs

    LSU's OOC games
    Sep. 3 [IMG] Wisconsin Badgers
Sep. 10 [IMG] Jacksonville State Gamecocks
Oct. 15 [IMG] Southern Miss Golden Eagles
Nov. 19 [IMG] South Alabama Jaguars

    Florida's OOC schedule
    Sep. 3 UMass Minutemen
Sep. 17 [IMG] North Texas Mean Green
Nov. 19 [IMG] Presbyterian Blue Hose
Nov. 26 [IMG] at Florida State Seminoles

    Arkansas's OOC schedule
    Sep. 3 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
Sep. 10 at TCU Horned Frogs
    Sep. 17 Texas State Bobcats
    Oct. 1 Alcorn State Braves

 Truthfully, I expected the SEC's schedule to be very weak,.. but, except for having one more, the OOC games strategy seems like that of most of the PAC's, (Stanford and USC being exceptions),.. most have one tough OOC game, and the rest easy overmatches.

Washington has a very weak OOC schedule this year, and then there is Florida vs the Presbyterian Blue Hose :D

I give Oregon props for their OOC SOS this season. In the tough North division, you guys are biting off a mouthful. So far we can't get anyone interested in 9 conference games in the mighty SEC. It's just the SEC and ACC holding out since the big 10 joined the other three power 5 conferences. The big 10 also refuse to play anymore FCS schools starting this season.

But you're right, Pac 12 and SEC games are few and far between. I would say UCLA historically has dabbled in the SEC more so than any Pac 12 team. USC and California as well.

Say what? You give props for UC Davis? Just cause they are called Aggies is no reason to get excited. This.....

    does not impress.

Nebraska finished 4th in their Division, haven't been ranked in the top 25 since 2013. Virginia finished 6th in conference with a 7-13 overall record. They've been to 1 bowl game since 2008....a loss in the Chick Fil A in 2011.

ESPiN has the top-10 OOC schedules ranked this way, http://gamedayr.com/sports/college-...ules-for-2016-college-football-season-146228/ and there isn't an SEC team in there but there are 4 Pac 12 teams, including the #1 toughest, USC and the others are not Oregon. Sorry GDF....

IIRC, there are only 2 college teams left who have never played an FCS school. Personally, I think USC is doing it all wrong. Nobody really gives a shit about "be the best, play the best". It's a nice and smart formula the SEC follows; play your division, a few non-division conf games, easy OOC, take a bye week prior to conference play, get a couple easy OOC wins on the board and go into conf play healthy, take another bye heading into the last few weeks to give injuries healing time.

Facts. ucla has played the SEC 35 times, 15 of those were against just one team....the Vols. There are 6 SEC teams they have never played, and 1 they have played only once. USC has played the SEC 34 times, with 7 being against Bama. There are 4 SEC teams USC has never played....Kentucky (Oregon St is the only Pac school that ever played Kentucky), Vandy (ucla is the only Pac team that ever played Vandy), and neither team from Mississippi (nobody from the Pac has ever played Ole Piss).

Stanford, ucla, and USC are the only Pac teams with overall winning records against SEC teams. LSU owns the Pac-12 Conference in football. LSU has the best head-to-head record of any SEC or Pac-12 team. The Tigers are 22-4 overall with a winning percentage of .846 against the Pac-12. Of course they are just .500 against USC.....we need to play some y'all. USC has a 22-11-1 record against SEC football teams and a winning percentage of .662. Best by far of the Pac-12 schools in matchups against the SEC.....just not against the Gumps, lol.

I appreciate teams who historically schedule the big boys. Unless there's something mandatory about the Pac 12 having to play more than one OOC power 5 team, I give Oregon credit for the effort. But if you delight in USC having the #1 OOC SOS you are welcome, glad Bama could help out.

Strategy wise, the SEC has it right as far as positioning yourself for a 4 game playoff. It has to be the new measure. It's not that the football committee doesn't see the SOS and give credit, but you can't go limping into the back half of the schedule with 2 or 3 losses. Besides, nobody is getting a free pass through the landmines of the West division. The opening games this season are ample proof that all conferences are getting the message to toughen up the OOC SOS. Now if we can get some of them off the first game calendar.
