To win our 5th game in a row over Nick Saban's Bama team is so sweet. I know Cholly Mac is smiling down on all his Tigers. Many of our younger Tiger fans don't know what it was like to endure many loses against the Bear. I can't wait for our old coach to come visit us next year in Death Valley. Nick Saban is now 0-2 against LSU. I'm looking forward to it being 0-3 next year. The biggest mistake Nick Saban made was to leave LSU. Thanks to Skip Bertman for finding the perfect replacement to coach our Tigers. Coach Miles is bringing our program to new heights never before seen. You can see how much all our players and new recruits are loving LSU football. Coach Miles is never afraid to put his players in position to make big plays. He never holds his players back. Fear the Hat!!! :milesmic: :LSU231: :crystal:
Re: Dominating Bama is Sweat for this Old Tiger I agree that it's wonderful to have this win streak against Alabama. We LSU fans have seen them first hand for a long time, and we remember the days when a win against Bama in football was rare. I hope that we can build some mutual respect between our two football programs. It's very difficult to get respect for LSU from the Bama fans. It may take winning 3 or 4 more against them to win this respect. LSU! :crystal:
Re: Dominating Bama is Sweat for this Old Tiger Looking back at the past 25 years & last night, the series is 13-12-1 in favor of LSU. Times have changed in our favor. :thumb:
Re: Dominating Bama is Sweat for this Old Tiger Thanks Purple! I love that stat! :thumb: If we can keep this string going another 5 years over our old coach it will make it that much sweeter. Of course he might not make it to year 5 if we keep this up.
Re: Dominating Bama is Sweat for this Old Tiger I hadn't counted and I had was unaware of that W/L record. I like this a lot more than our record against them during the 70s. I respect Bama, but, most of their fans don't deserve my respect, because they don't return the favor for LSU. This is why many SEC fans don't like Bama . . . too many of their fans are condescending and disrespectful of other SEC football programs. I'm sure that there are some Auburn fans that would agree with me here. LSU! :crystal:
I certainly do. The very first Tiger game I attended was where Alabama recorded its 500th all-time win with a 21-7 victory over our Tigers on Thanksgiving night (Nov. 22) in 1973. My father took me to that game. I remember yelling at Bert Jones trying to get his attention and he smiled and waved at me. We lost my father two months later in a boating accident and attending that game with him is one of the last best memories I have of my dad. I also remember sitting on his lap listening to the games on the radio and how upset he'd get during the bama and ol miss contests hehe. It was a blood feud between the schools back then and it still is with me particularly against bama. This is OUR time now, let's enjoy it to it's fullest. I know I am. :milesmic: :helmet:
I was 15 and I was there that night. As far as radio games I remeber John Furgason doing the play by play. Man those were the days. Nice memories for you of your dad.
Re: Dominating Bama is Sweat for this Old Tiger And I think you'd find a lot of Bama fans that say the same thing about your fans. The majority of LSU fans I've encountered (in person) I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire. Obnoxious and disrespectful wouldn't even begin to describe. Yet the ones that I do like I would give the shirt off my back for any day. I think at some point people just have to realize and accept the fact that there are some fans that no matter what, are not going to like or "respect" another program and I think in the LSU/Bama situation that has sadly become the case. I've realized from living in La for 12 years now that many LSU fans aren't going to give Bama credit or "respect" no matter what successes they have. And it has NOTHING to do with how Bama fans treat them. It's just pure dislike. No need to sugar coat it with reasons. And that's fine. But just don't expect any in return. Unfortunately I'm a fan that treats "you" how "you" treat me. Not very mature on my part but hey, I've got flaws. If "you" continually bash my favorite team that I've tons of passion for, when I have the manhood to give your team props and respect when they do well or show improvement then the "props" and "respect" stop and I just act immature and say your team sucks. And for the LSU fans that act cordial and show respect for Bama I return the favor and shower respect about LSU to them. Pretty unproductive actions on both fan bases but I've still got some maturing to do...
Yes they did. They beat bama on the line of scrimmage, capitalizing on opportunities and making the big plays in crucial times of the game. That's winning the football game. JPW didn't fumble the ball on his on accord. It was a forced fumble. But bama didn't get "dominated". Unless you call winning by 7 in a back and forth game "dominating".
